Another set of twin emails this morning. 485 approved for myself and wife. This stressful journey has finally come to an end. Thanks to all who have provided guidance, information and much needed support in these forums. May your gods be with you wherever you are, and good luck with your approvals.

This forum has been of great help to me . I wish speedy approvals for those who have been waiting for long .

My observation is : make sure that your dates are past 485 published dates . Make sure your FP did not expire . Make sure NAMECHECK is complete .

Regarding Namecheck

Hi Sunny,

Do we need to anything from our side for Namecheck? My situation is similar to you. I got RFE on EVL and responded to the RFE on 2/11/2005. My LUD changed twice (now 2/17/2005) and after that nothing has happened.

My 485 receipt date is Jan 5, 2004 (Vermont SC).

Can I expect the approval anytime soon?

Hi Kalyan ,

Strictly speaking we don't have to do anything as far as name check is concerned . ANytime after submission of 485 application , USCIS can send a request to FBI about namecheck . Unfortunately it was widely reported ( and I believe) that the requests sent by VSC never reached FBI because of software glitch . VSC keeps on waiting for FBI response . FBI will not work on your case as they have no official request . THis is what many of April 03 folks noticed. So it is better to make sure that name check is completed .
You can find email address to which you should send the email by doing some search on Namecheck . FBI typically takes 3 months to respond to your email . Since VSC had already received your response to your RFE . by that time ( 3months) actually you may have approval . But no harm in sending an Email to FBI .

Spouse and Self Approval - Question

Hi - I have been checking the LUD online. My husband's LUD message indicate the application is moving along. However mine is not changing at all. I am the main applicant and my husband is applying through me. Is it possible for his I485 to be approved before mine? Any thought?? Thanks!! :rolleyes:

At last, 485 got approved, my details are as follows.

PD - June 15, 1999
I-140 Approval - August 2000
I-485 Receipt Date - June 5, 2004 (yes, there is a big gap, I was waiting to get married ....)
RFE on 485 - Jan 19, 2005 - EVL, Pay stubs, Tax Returns
RFE Received Date - Feb 11, 2005
485 Approval Date - March 9, 2005

I strongly feel that the approval happens in the order in which RFE response was received (for the people who have got RFE)

I would like to thank everyone for the guidence provided. I am running out of words ....
