My I-485/I-181 got approved on May 11. Got an email from the USCIS saying this. See my signature for timelines. Very relieved.

For all others approved on May11, did you also recieve a paper approval notice? Any idea on how long before the actual card is mailed out?

Email from the USCIS:

"On May 11, 2006, after approving your application, we ordered you a new card. Your card will be mailed to you as soon as it is ready."

How long to wait after PD becomes current

Hi,

It is EB2 case and our PD become current in march. WE have filed I140 and 485 in Feb 05. Did not see any updates on the case. My lawyer placed an enquiry on may 1st. Can anyone suggest how long it might take before we hear the good news.

sai05

you can call them and ask why you have not heard anything yet.
Your PD is current for more a while now and according to USCIS processing dates, they are already processing april 05 cases, so you should have definitely heard something.
Like I said, call and ask them. There's a ph nos to call on the page that gives you the processing dates.

goodluck -

Any recently approved ppl still hanging out here ???

I am wondering... whats the time frame (approximately) between now and when cards should be mailed out.

Finally any experiences on how long before those cards get to us ??

Thank you everyone for your good wishes. I wish you all a speedy approval as well.... One big change is... I feel like I have to find a new problem to be worried about ;) of course I am not hoping one will find me though :D

I551 stamping

Hi guys, just wanted to let you know this...
Went to lcoal USCIS office today and get the I551 stamping done. My 485 approval notice only says Approved, but it doesn't say anything about biometrics(my biometrics are not done yet). The officer asked me to show only Approval notice and an ID(Drivers license). It took less than a minute. It was surprisingly easy!

Congratulations!!! You seem to have gone through all the denial cycles and come back!!!

485 approved and cards recieved

Folks:

my 485 approved on May 20 and cards recieved today for both my wife and myself.

However, I am still waiting for the children cards. the status is not showing that they ordered cards for children. Not sure if this is common. Anyone has idea?

Hi all,

This may be a silly question: my wife does not have SSN. Now that we have PR cards, Do we need to apply SSN or USCIS will intimate on that?

Just go ahead and apply her SSN. USCIS will not intimate you about it. They are too busy working on Name-Checks.
