Hello,
I sent a package of checklist response which included my original marriage certificate and divorce decree & my employment letter, to NVC in New Hampshire last week -Tuesday, May 17. (This is for sponsoring my dad to immigrate over here by the way!) With certified mail USPS, of course! Now even until today, exactly 7 days later, the tracking number of USPS still says the same message, "There is no record of this item" whenever I try to check on their website.
I'm really worried now my package might have been lost somewhere and might not be able to reach NVC. Before I have to go back and obtain all the paperwork, which will be a real pain (!), I want to know if there is ANY possible way to find out what's really going on:
1) Is there a way to ask USPS to find out where the package has gone? The tracking number is not helping up until now.
2) What will happen if NVC receive two packages of the same thing...let's just hope that USPS sent the first one in delay and let me know too late when I already sent in the second one?
3) Maybe a week (7 days) is too early? When should I be really freaked out? I'm still 30-45% hoping that it's just a delay of mailing and updating status on USPS' part now.
Thanks if I sound too needy and like a fool....too much stress over this stuff!
