plastic card update

So finally got the plastic cards for me and my wife. It took a total of 24 days after the interview to get the cards. San Jose is really fast in this regard and is setting a fine example for the other centers to emulate.

You and I are in the same boat. Did you call USCIS to find out what is going on with your card.

I am planning to send G731 form to inquire about the status.

I am not sure if we can use G731 before 6 Mths have passed. But anyways no harm in trying. Yes I called up USCIS and they say it takes upto 6 Mths to receive the Plastic Card. Looks like our File In Charge, might have been on vacation/fired or Contract End or some other Bad Luck. Keep me posted about any developments. Thanks.

BadaBhai - I also called USCIS and I was transferred to AOS officer, he recommended sending in G731 form.
 
Passport Stamping Experience at SFO

Myself and my wife had our Infopass appointment on March 3rd 2005, at 7:45 in the morning. Both of us were out at 8:00. Did not have any problems. Pretty quick and efficient.

Only weird rule is - you are not allowed to take cellphones with camera inside the INS office. But if you have one, no problem - go to the Italian restaurant opposite to the office and leave your things there. They charge you $3.00 and will even provide you with a receipt for your things. Once you are done, you can pick up your stuff.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get your card after the PP stamping at SFO?

question

Hello guys,
Couple of questions.
1) How are you guys checking the CO, CM, CR ??
485 approved on 01/31/2005. I got my infopass appointment on 02/15/2005 and got the passport stamped. How can i check the CO,CM etc dates ??

2) Now that the passport is stamped, can i go ahead and change jobs, or should I wait till receiving the plastic card.
Do we need to worry about any 180 day clauses or such things now ??

Just watch the online status of your original 485 application. It will change when they are making the card.

As for changing jobs, that doesn't depend on the card. However, there is a separate thread on how soon after GC it is advisable to change jobs. See that.
 
Hi everyone,
I went to stamp in san francisco office on feb 22, 2005. It's been 2 week, but my 485 LUD still didn't change and message is still showing the same: you 485 has approved.....
Any idea when i can get GC?
Do i need to call 1-800?
I saw some people in the forum got their 485 LUD changed to: greedcard ordered......within 2 weeks.

Not pretty sure if san francisco office is slower than any other office??? :confused:

painful140, be patient. Took more than that for me. Wait at least a month. Of course, the USCIS officer at the passport stamping counter said call after six months.

Where did you have your PP Stamp? Mine is in San Francisco office. PP stamp on Feb 22, but 485 LUD didn't change at all....
I think you will receive your card pretty soon. Congraduation !!!
