Philadelphia Regional DOL Tracker

The number for BRC is (301) 731-3790

ASk Operator BRC she will Transfer to another line. But no one answer, you can left message.

So is anyone contacting their 'friendly' lawyer to call. If you have an obliging lawyer, please ask him to make the call and ask the following questions
1. When they expect the letters to go out,
2. How much time after the letter has been recieved, will the process take for certifying the LC
2b). Does BRC really lessen the time for processing or is it going to follow the same procedure as Philly DOL and thus take that much time

Hey,
Gopal buddy,
Thanks for the update.

Few questions,
1.Are you a lawyer (or if you called), was the lady kind of annoyed, giving you this information.
2. Please remove her phone number as she might get more phones than she would like and you might cutt off a potential good source of information. (But keep the phone number handy)
3. Her phone number is not 301 (area code of MD) BUT 484 (might be cell phone number). I hope you called the right number/person
4. The most important question, will there process make it fast after they recieve answer from the lawyers or will it still take as much time???

thanks in advance,
a

BRS is in philly and not MD

I saw some people stating that BRC is in MD. I think that info is wrong. BRC needs to be located next to PHILLY DOL as per the BRC regulations. I think we did hear that Philly DOL is moving stuffs to BRC in Philly. I woould think that is the correct info.

non-RIR

Hi everybody,
What's new in Philly DOL? My date in Virginia SESA has been reached. It was a really long way: July, 8, 2002 non-RIR. I am not sure that my case is already here... but... What the current date here is? Do you have any tracker on these thread?
Good luck to you all.

Brc

Vikram_p,

You are partially right in the sense that BRC is moving. It moved and few of old Certifying officers are now part of the BRC. But Actual BRC is in Maryland office. The old COs are helping the guys in BRC.
I got the 484******* number when I dialed a random number in Old Phili DOL office. Then I talked this lady Barbara.
Any way the issue is they are still in the process of updating the Database and sending the letters.

Any Updates on BRC/BEC?

Any update on BRC/BEC? Anybody…

Anxiety level is mounting sky high, after seeing approvals from Atlanta and other regional DOL’s. I totally envy those lucky applicants; I wish I were one among them. Please don’t get me wrong; everyone deserves a win some day? I really don’t remember, when was the last time we say some approvals (months or years)?

Hi

Its much more than anxiety. Its frustration, a high degree test of patience. It just seems so absurd, no one is even taking note of this absurdity from AILA community. There is no mention of the same in AILA updates or anyone in immigration lawyer community on this issue. No one seems 2 b complaining.

Its so very unfair.

Amol,

I tried to make some noise in the past, addressing all the issues with labor processing delay. My lawyer and few other higher bureaucrats with AILA community turned me down, stating that this issue is already looked into. When PERM and BRC becomes reality everything is suppose to sail smooth.

Ya right, I don't believe in this S**t anymore until I see some approvals.

I call it as kind of 'exploitation'. Why cannot we live like other people (permanent residents) ? Only because we do not have 'legal' permanent status ? And, after all, that is because of temptation of vitamin 'M' ? If we get something lucrative, we also offer 'high degree' of professional services! Where are those 'so-called' 'human rights' people ?

Very frustrated. :(

DHS Appropriations Act of 2005

I understand that none of such Acts can be taken seriously till the time we see some real results, but still looks like the funding for 2005 is already signed now as of 10/18/04. Here is a part of the total $28.9 billion budget......

Eliminating the Immigration Backlog

The act includes $160 million in total resources to continue progress toward a six-month processing for all immigration applications, while maintaining security and continuing the President's multi-year $500 million initiative to reduce the backlog of applications. CIS has continued the focus on quality improvements and expanded national security checks, such as performing background name checks on all applications before approval.

Well I called a good lady (the same lady that Gopal called). I guess this is like Tomshu Hotline, Whoeve has the number please dont misuse it, call it once in a week and have your questions ready. Don't ask the same questions.

1. There were 10 DOL employees before all employed in BRC now.
2. In total there will be 120 employee in the BRC center (12 times more).
3. The letters would be sent sometime next week (haven't we heard that before, this would be a question for next week)
4. The procedure for approval is same, no new process so no time saving there.
5. They might be hirirng few more ppl (and then the total will be 120), these would be fed employees.
6. It is expected to be slow in the first few (week/months/year pick your fancy) as it will take time to train new people (didn't we hear that the reason there was no work at Phily DOL because they were training).
7.It is not sure, who's application will be picked first, earlier state or federal date.
8.Question for next week - (In fact this is the question I asked but got the above response) - Are there any other regional DOL application with Phili DOL and in what order they will be processed.

rgds,

Hi Akela,
Could you explain points 7 and 8.
I thought they will do only DOL cases initially.
Thanks.

A plea to all on this forum

First of all, Thanks to Akela and Tomshu for giving us such terrific updates!

I think what Akela means is:

1. There were 10 DOL employees previously working on cases - they are part of the BRC now.
7. They have not decided on whether they are going to process according to the earliest state receipt/approval dates vs DOL receipt date.
8. There might be other DOLs and not just Philly DOL whose cases are going to be processed by the BRC.

I have an urgent plea to make to those of you who have the BRC phone number - let us make an effort on this forum to co-ordinate the phone calls. Right now, we have a very small window into the BRC's operations thanks to one or two people who are answering the phone over there. If too many people start calling, we are probably going to lose that window and that will lead to many more weeks/months spent in limbo wondering about what is hapenning to our application. I for one, plan to read the weekly update that volunteers (Tomshu, Akela etc) are providing on this forum, and I hope that this will work out for the rest of you as well.

Hope I have not offended anybody.

Best Regards,

its all humbug

After waiting for 3 years to see some movement, I have finally given up..this GC things was messing up my career and I finally had to choose between GC and work. Chose work. Leaving my current employeer for, hopefully, a much better job. More responsibilities, etc etc.

If Bush wins this election, you can bank on the fact that funding for any state or federal agency which is not related to defence is cut. We all know what that means for the BRC's

VK,

I agree, since we are anyway getting information from Akela/Tomshu..there is no need for additional people to bombard BRC with phone calls...hopefully the process would be streamlined in the month to come...

Sorry for the delay guys,
There were grand total of 10 ppl working in Phily DOL before, now going forward there would be 120. (and I guess all those 10 folks are part of BRC).

Point 7 is, if someone had an earlier state filing date compared to when it reached Phili DOL, he might be picked first (but not yet decided).

Point 8 is there are rumours that Phily DOL is handling cases from other DOL, I could not ask and confirm it, if this rumour is true, what is the processing order, does Phily DoL go first.

The last point, what is the logic that if Bush wins the staff and budgeted money will be withdrawn?

Can anyone shed light on this.

Please DO NOT "call DOL officials too often or expose their phone number in public!!"

I have two points:
1/. As I said before, the Phil DOL cases will be processed first according to their case_num.
2/. Please DO NOT "call DOL officials too often or expose their phone number in public!!!"
