Hello everyone, thanks to this community, I now have my US passport. Before I jones this forum, I sent in my n600 application. Since the n600 application could take up to 8 months, I decided to apply for my US passport after reading through this forum. I received my passport along with all of my original documents except one, my green card. Instead, I got a letter saying that it was sent to the department of Homeland Security.. I also read in "http://forums.immigration.com/threads/question-on-applying-us-passport-n-600.305873/" and it states that I need my original GC to turn in when my application is approved. From everything I've read in this forum, a U.S. Passport is sufficient, but I also want a CoC in case I lose my passport while traveling abroad. Has anyone been in this type of situation? I don't have a copy of my green card as the earlier thread suggested. The next best thing I have is the letter saying that my greencard was sent to uscis. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
Best regards,
D. Tran
