Part-time job on EAD voids H1?

Does taking a part-time job (at school) on EAD while continuing to work fulltime for H1/GC sponsoring employer void H1 status?

yes, first day you are using EAD, your H-1 becomes invalid, you must update your information with H-1 employer and switch there, too, to EAD (fill form I-9 I think).
 
Sometime ago on Murthy chat she had mentioned, continuing with primary employer help maintain H1 status even if you use EAD somewhere else.

yes provided the h1 is valid and you work for the employer that petitioned it.

My opinion is - not.
If you used EAD, your H-1 is not valid anymore.
If later you go out and enter back on AP, this does not restore your H-1, even if original H-1 would be still valid if you would not use EAD.

To restore H-1, you must apply for H-1 again.

If you were on H-1, traveled and came back on AP, then this does invalidate your H-1 and you can continue working on H-1.
