A friend of mine lost her job on H1B in March this year & since been trying for job in USA. Now she is thinking of immigrating to Canada.
If she qualifies and files her papers now It may take 18-24 months, do you mean she will be staying illegally in US? She has to attach FBI report with her Canada immigration papers

She might be out of status & staying illegally in USA for last 3+ months. Will she get work permit in Canada?
--- No IT job in Canada at this time, who is going to sponsor her work permit from Canada? You need some sponsor for work permit and if she is in IT work permit will NOT be approved by HRDC because many landed immigrants (Permanent residents) are looking for job in IT field, why the HRDC will approve the work permit? And her illegal/out of status stay will be an issue even if she qualifies for immigration to Canada. Find out US citizen get married, best option or go back to India, India has better jobs in IT and not Canada
