Hi pinnacle_man2001

If you like the report I have put I can generate the full report for the outputs you have. Suggestions are welcomed. :rolleyes:

:) Cheers

For those creating output reports ....

Hey folks:

When you are creating the output reports, could you please add a cmd line switch to the program which will basically determine the order of sorting ?
Right now its sorted on the series by default -- it would be helpful to have this sorted on any of the fields ( like I might want to see which series has the highest % of approvals for example ).
And yeah, make the % a separate column -- that would help in sorting and all that.

Great Work !

Hi all,

All of your efforts are great. I welcome your posts in this forum. Please keep in mind, this is a team effort and hence we will all jointly make a decision.

To start this program is really really great. Even rurux had sent me a program however he is still fine tuning. For the start all of your programs is making excellent progress.

What platform does your program run and what tools (like java) etc would be needed?

I will shortly provide post a note which will list the wac02XXX (5 digit) which indicate the corresponding moth. If you add this feature to program such that, it can
till a sub total of the month it will be great.

Thanks to all of you.

Guys,
Making an application to process the reports demands quite some effort. I understand we are currently at least 3 making such a tool. This means the effort spent by two of us will not be used. I would suggest that we all work on the same code, adding funtionalities and features. That way each effort adds to the end product instead of competiting.
To work on the same platform we have to select the following:
- language (Java, C++, Visual basic, C...)
- Platform: mainly Windows or Unix
- Owner: One person to drive the project.
- Base code: either rurux, rcherukuri, mine, ...
Pinnacle_man, you may select the language and the platform you want to use this tool on. We can see from there how to continue.

I suggest you developers recommend the platform preferrably Windoes based application.
Other tools like java, perl, .net etc could be installed by people using this program

I agree with a join effort.

Please share your thoughts.

Another program to generate the report

I sent this executable to Pinnacle Man a few days ago, but I don't know if it worked or not. It is very flexible. We can specify what should appear in each column. Example configuration:

ColumnsStart
Apprvd=STATUS_APPROVED STATUS_CARDORDERED STATUS_COMPLETED
FP=STATUS_FPSENT STATUS_FPRECEIVED
RFE=STATUS_RFESENT STATUS_RFERECEIVED
Recvd=STATUS_RECEIVED
Resmd=STATUS_RESUMED
Trans=STATUS_TRANSFERRED
ColumnsEnd

This report is generated with this configuration. Left side of '=' sign is column heading, and right side contains all status types to be included in this column. First three columns are fixed; first is day, second total, third misc, which are not included in other columns. Here is example report (it does not add for each month).

Code:

If anyone's interested, here's my very short s/w that does it. It's written in C#, so it'll work only if you have .net (you probably do). I'm working on implementing totalling by months, for which a static mapping table is needed, which maps wac to calendar day. I'll provide the first version of the table as well but it'll need to be updated periodically.
Let me know if you have an Anaconda file that this won't parse. I can easily fix bugs.

I'll provide source on request.

Hi All,

About the report generator, which I used before in a dirty quick temporary solution for time being is bash script, which I run on cygwin. And I do not advice it to be used for permanent solution. My preference for the solution is JAVA as integral part of scanner software.

The other thing I found yesterday about the scanner it did not skip the approved, card-ordered... cases in my first run. So I used the output of my first scan as input for the second run and this time I did skipped those cases.

And this is best part: I made four copies of scanner in four different directories and broke my input file into four parts and ran all four copies. Guess what I finished the whole scanning in 3hr 45min., which took more than 12hrs., first time. Yes this include time saving in skipping the approved cases also which did not happened first time. And I did not split the proxy file.

:) cheers

Thanks!

ruxrux,
I agree that we cannot have a static map for days to month that applies to all WAC years.

However, for a given WAC series, say WAC02, we already have this information from Kashmir's report from the past.
