Ombudsman Case Worksheet

I placed case status inquiry through Ombudsman with the requierd worksheet. Received a response from them. I am a female.

It is addressed to Mr "My First Name" and "Last Name" - the last name has a mistake in it

Sense when I am a Mr and when did I change my last name spelling.

I just have to say this because I am so not impressed with the upsetting service they have given on my case

I have a question regarding the cases submitted to Ombudsman

In the letter received they wrote the following:
“We regret the length of time it has taken to process your Form N400. We recognize that becoming a United States citizen is important to you and we will make every effort to process your case without unnecessary delays. Within the next few weeks you will receive an appointment for fingerprints and once these fingerprints clear, we will schedule you for an interview.”

When I called on Friday and spoke with a level 2 IO I was told that I was not placed in queue, I was placed in queue to be scheduled for interview. I asked if I was at the end of the queue - he said I was level 2. I don't know what it means.

I wanted to know per the weird letter I received are they gonna be honest and really schedule me as they said? My fingerprints have cleared on Wednesday verified with FBI and USCIS. Any with experience from Ombudsman?

Thanks

You already filed WOM and are wondering if Ombudsman's office will follow through? At this point I would put your hopes on WOM instead of waiting for anything positive from Ombudsman. If anything, Ombudsman's response could be used as exhibit in your WOM to demonstrate inconsistencies in USCIS responses to your inquiries.

Chantal,

I couldn't help but smile when reading your post. I wouldn't worry much about CIS calling you Mr. and misspelling your name.

Was the letter from CIS HQ? was it signed by a Customer Service Supervisor? I received the same letter three times before after writing to the the three Ombudsmen CIS went through since I applied. My name and address were handwritten. It's possible they made a mistake writing your info down. I wouldn't worry about that.

At least the letter does reflect reality. You were scheduled for 2nd FP and I really think you will get an IL soon even without WOM.

Your WOM will help you though in case they misplaced your file as you mentioned in previous posts. They will have to find that file somewhere.

Keep the hope.

Thank you. I know ... the WOM was a good thing. It's been 3 weeks and I still don't have a AUSA assigned to my case. I'm just a little concern that I will be waiting a while, so I wanted to know if I would actually have hope with the letter, LOL  :)

Always appreciate your encouragment :)

Yep, I'm updating Additional Statement of Cause for future updates to WOM

I called USCIS and have an update

Thank you everyone for all the great support :) and I will still need it :)

Will let you know once I receive the IL in the mail

Congratulations! That is indeed great news. You've mentioned something on another thread about going to InfoPass. If your interview has really been scheduled, they can print out a copy of the IL for you. Whatever you do, don't dismiss your WOM until your case has been adjudicated.

That's great C. :D

On another positive note (at least I hope it's positive), I was told by a phone IO that my case was assigned to an officer at the DO and that my 'name check review' is over.

I am assuming I will be getting an IL soon. (I'm cautiously optimistic).

Waterman00, good choice of words. I got so happy today. Afterwork, I realized that I am still waiting to see my IL ... cautiously optimistic ... I like that. When did you learn that about your application?

I just found out today while talking to an IO over the phone.

It took me a while to get through the 1st agent who was comparing my timeline with the current processing times..lol. He concluded by saying 'I see that your case is outside normal processing time...'. ya think? ...lol.

Finally got to an IO. This is the 1st time CIS is saying my NC is over after 30 months. I have it in writing as well as verbally.

I was told that I should receive an IL soon. So we will see what the new year brings.
