Hi friends!

For solving some legal issues, I need a copy my old H1 approval(I129)
which I have lost (, valid until 10/2002)

Does anyone know if I can order a copy from BCIS?
(I can stil check this status online)
Receipt Number: lin00040xxxxx

Application Type: I129, PETITION FOR A NONIMMIGRANT WORKER

Current Status:

This case has been approved. On February 1, 2000, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours.

Thanks!

You can use I824 to try and get a copy of I797 (I129 is the application, I797 is the approval). But generally, the old docs are sent to storage and it might be difficult to get a copy from storage.
The LIN numbers are unique (the first two digits indicate year) so getting a response for the message does not automatically mean BCIS is still holding a copy of I797 for you.

It seems poster needs copy of complete petition I-129 and LCA that was filed for his H1; it may be with lawyer or with employer HR
