Looks like when you give your 2nd FP, INS is approving I-485 within 2 months. Two of my friends also got their I-485 approved after their 2nd FP.

Could you please tell me

Q#1)if you have done the early FP2 on 06/04/04 or it was the scheduled day FP.

Also when did your LUD(Last Update Date got changed ) in the process.

Q#2) did that change once for all @ Approval or it changed in betweeen please verify the dates?

Waiting for I-485 approval after second FP

Hi All,
Congratulations to those October 2002 filers who got approved! My question to all of you is -

Does the online status of your I-485 change after you have been approved? Do you recieve some notification in the mail or does it go to your lawyers? I completed my second FP on 6/25/2004 and am hoping to be approved soon - just don't know what to expect - how will I know whether the case has been approved?
Also do ALL cases get transfered to the local office after approval? I guess we need to go to the local office to get the stamp on our passport?

Those of you who have gone through this process - please advise!

Question and advise needed.

1) My friend who is also an works for my same meployer has got his I-485 approval last week.His I-485 priority date was 9/21/2002 and mine is 10/23/2002 .He received second fingerpring on May 15 2004 .Iam yet to receive one .

Why is my I-485 approval delayed ?

2) Since we are filing EAD & AP renewal will it trigger OFF an I-485 approval or second fingerprinting request ?


This is because my adjudicating officer need to check my pending I485 file before issuing EAD and AP is it not ? In this way he will see my file and find out that fingerprinting has expired.

I understand this may or may not happen .I am just asking this could be a possibility

3) I called USCIS and enquired about fingerprinting expiry and second fingerprinting .They said it cannot be requested and USCIS will send it at the appropriate time if needed.



Kindly advise.
 
Got FP2 notice

Got FP2 notice at home. Its scheduled for 2nd Sept 2004.
No change to online-status. ( still says 1st FP received....)

after the long wait it is finally here...

485 approval date 08/06/2004 without any RFE

got 2 e-mails (with the same content ) from USCIS indicating my case had been approved.

i had sucessfully applied and got my 3rd H1-B on 6/30/2004


also i had applied for 3rd EAD on 07/23/2004 which might have triggered some action on my case.

also i had written to my local congressman 3 weeks back a letter with copies of my 485 reciept notice.his immigration liasion had contacted VSC and they told her that my FBI fingerprints had cleared and somebody would be assigned to my case within 2 months.
I don't know if any of the above helped.

NOTE :please try contacting ur local congressman,phone/letter etc,it might help.

my wife's 485 is not yet approved yet.

GOOD LOOK TO ALL OCT 2002 PEOPLE WHO ARE WAITING,PLEASE HANG IN THERE AND DON'T LOSE HOPE.

No RFE. No labor substituition. No job change. No contact with any senator/congressman.

Took 3 years and 10 days from filing for Labor certification (RIR).

The journey was a lot easier with help from all postings on this site. A big thanks to everyone on this site and Mr Rajiv Khanna.

I changed job in Feb 2004 and filed AC21 in June-july this year.
I filed it through my attorney. I don't know all the documents that he applied with. The only new document I provided was new employment letter.
