Dear Director Don Neufeld;

I was very pleased to find out that you had promised to Congressional members to significantly increase resource allocations to I-485 adjudication's after 3/9/2004 deadline for TPS El Salvador so that the processing time for I-485 will be reduced to 12 months or less by the end of September 2004.

However, apparently the same promise was made last year, and I-485 processing times did not decrease after 3/9/2003. Furthermore, the current processing time for I-485 cases has already reached over 25 months.

It would be very reassuring to the employment based immigration community if your office could be more specific about the steps being taken, or being planned, in order to reduce the current growing backlog. For instance,
1) How many officers is currently working on I-485 adjudication ?
2) How many officers will be allocated to I-485 after 3/9/2004 ?

Respectfully yours,

I agree with reach_honey. No matter how many emails, faxes we send to CSC or congressmen, they can generally ingore everything we've done.

I strongly encourage those people whose relatives who have voting rights to contact their constituent district representative. We, the people who work hard without voting rights, are basically silenced. Our voices are fairly weak. In addition to keeping sending emails and faxes, please please try to get politicians to speak for us.
