Obtaining GC for the whole family

Howdy fellas, I am on my final steps towards obtaining my citizenship and once i have it i want to apply to get the GC for my Father, Mother, and Sister (19 years old).
They all live abroad and i wanted to make a check list with all needed documents that i will need from them so i can start on that asap. I will submit their forms and all needed documents from here in the US and i will put my address down as the mailing address.
They all currently have tourist visa and they can reenter if they want. so my questions are:

1- Is it easier if they get everything done their at the American embassy of the country they are in? or should i have them fly over here for their interview & such?

2- How much am i looking at per individual when it comes to forms and filing fees? I could not figure it out since i could not find for sure how many and which forms i am looking to buy and submit for each one of them.

3- If there is a link for a good thread with details or info for my subject it would be greatly appreciated. The sticky that is up there now is outdated i think.

Thank you

you are right i mis-read the eligibility section. Any more info about my question would be appreciated

i am not really looking on how long its going to take. Just want to know what forms and how much. A link to an updated do it yourself thread or site would be be really good

You file an Immediate Relative I-130 for your father, another Immediate Relative I-130 for your mother, and a third I-130 (FB4) for your sister. Once they are approved, your parents' I-130s will get forwarded to NVC which will start the process for a consular interview in their home country.

About 12 years from now, the same thing will happen for your sister.

is there any other faster way for my sister. like may be through my parents if one day they actually get citizenship

Potentially, but practically speaking it won't save much time. I think the best thing to do (assuming she doesn't plan on coming here on an F-1) is to get the I-130 filed for her now, because it sets her priority date. If one day your parents become citizens and she qualifies under FB1 or FB3, if the date is already current then they can file a new I-130 and she can immediately file an I-485, provided the date is current.

If she plans to come here on an F, however, then all bets are off.

Thanx for the info. so the first thing i do is file I-130 for both my parents? what about that I-485 form?

Your parents are not in the United States, therefore the I-485 will not be filed, nor will an I-131 or I-765. Just the I-130; NVC will take it from there.
