Not sure about Hepatitis B. And yes they take X-ray and give mmr and tetanus shot. Also test for Tb skin test. Be aware that pregnant women cant take any shots nor shd they be exposed to X-ray.

Hope this helps

i know that vaccination records are accepted at Dr.V. But the medical examination and blood work has to be done again, since for CP you have to get these things done at Consulate approved Dr. and lab.

PCC from local police station in India

Has anyone done any research on how long it would take to get a PCC from local district police station (chennai and bangalore perhaps).? And also the RPO? Please post if you have any information on this.

Thanks in advance.

Nice name. I am not sure if you really need it ( I mean whether the consulate insists even though it is on their web site). I think get a pcc from the consulate here in the us and you should be fine.
I dont think they will then bother to get something from the local police station. If you have that it wont hurt, even otherwise my take is just have one PCC from the Indian consulate in the US and u should u be ok.

Interview on Feb 19 - 8AM

My folks called Chennai and found out that my interview is on Feb 19 @ 8AM. But will wait till the case # appears on the website. But the lady who picked up had said that this is confirmed as they have received NVC petitions, since my Dad enquired about NVC petition.

Hopefully all our cases get listed on the website this time. Good luck to all of us.

Have a good wknd. Will go home and have a couple of drinks myself........

PCC

I have applied for PCC in Chicago on Jan 2, it was faxed to Bangalore on 10th Jan. by the consulate. My interview date is on Feb 15th and I\'m planning on leaving in the first week of Feb.

I don\'t think I\'ll be able to get PCC from local consulate. Anyone else in the same situation? How are we going to handle this scenario. Indian consulate in Chicago says they will wait for 45 days for bangalore passport office to reply. If they do not receive reply withing 45 days, they are authorized to issue one.

Chicago consulate is willing to give me a letter saying my PCC has been applied. I\'m thinking of taking that letter if I do not get PCC by that time.

Any thoughts?

Acehart, my wife is in the same boat

I got mine on the same day from NY. Her\' is the 45 day thing. I am planning on sending someone to the RPO in Hyd. to get it expedited. Let us seen what happens. I will keep you guys posted.

If we do not get it, I guess we will also take a letter from NY.

Guys ,please post your PCC details in the thread give below

Information from my Lawyer on PCC (might be slightly stale, however check the last paragraph)

Update from AILA on Police Certificates/India

 POLICE RECORD
All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and over, residing in India,
should obtain police certificates from the local Passport
Office. Applicants whose Indian passport was issued within the
past six months may present just the Passport Office Police
Certificate, and need not obtain additional police clearances.
Applicants over age 16, whose passports were issued more than
six months previous to visa application, must also obtain a
 police clearance from the
District Police Office serving the applicant\'s place of
 residence.
Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should
obtain a statement from their local embassy or consulate
confirming they have no criminal record. Non-Indian IV
applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates
from the District Police Station serving their area of
residence. Indian police certificates are not available for
foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying outside India.

John Nay, the supervisory Consul General in New Delhi, has
stated that all Indian posts (except Calcutta, which only deals
with orphans) are changing to the new policy effective February
 1. Each post will update its own web site, and they are all
including new instructions in their appointment letters. They
are still working out some implementation details, so they ask
for your patience and understanding, but desire to assure
applicants that they will not be "unfairly wiped out on this."
