No Receipt after 4 weeks

Hi

My PD became current on Sep 1 (EB3 ROW). My Laywer filed 485 application on Aug 31 so it reaches NSC on or after Sep 1. Its been 4 weeks and no receipt yet. I read on this forum that receipt number is writen on the cleared checks but even my checks have not been encashed yet.

Is it normal these days for this long wait? How much more time should I wait before taking any action like refiling or sometimg (I am not sure if thats an option at all).

--------------Talk to your lawyer, he may not sent on Aug 31. wait 10 days and keep in touch with your lawyer

Hi hailstormx,

I am in the same situation as you. (EB3, PD=setp. 1st, 485 sent out at Aug. 31, 2006, no receipt received yet, and my check is not cashed yet). I called my lawyer, she told me "wait". What else I can do???

I have sent 10 applications (EADs/APs) of my family, September 1st, 2006. All checks cashed by USCIS, and actually they are working on my applications so cannot touch others. But still no progress since 09-06-2006.
 
Delay in receipts issuance.

Hi hailstormx;

This is from this link CIS forms webpage

NOTE: Due to an unusually large volume of receipts at the Service Centers, it is taking longer than expected to enter cases into the system. Depending on the type of case and service requested, it may take approximately 14 days to generate and mail receipt notices. Once the receipt notice has been generated, it may take an additional 2 to 3 days for customers to receive their receipt notices in the mail.

i saw my receipt numbers from back side of my check for 6 applicatons(485/131/765 me & spouse).

sent on: 09/27 (to Nebraska) , RD: 09/29 (TSC)

hailstormx....any update from your side??
 
Finally I saw my checks cashed and got the receipt numbers (LINxxxx) from the back of checks. The strange thing is that my online case status says they Received the case on September 30 :confused:

Thats the beauty of USCIS, USCIS knows better.

No, my check is still not cashed yet.
 
suhel.....you have to be a bit proactive.....because receipt is pretty much basic requirement for all enquiries....

is your checks cashed yet?? if your attorney filed it, ask them if the checks got cashed......i have noticed that the attornies add a bit of delay(they will say that it is filed....but they file it later....)

.. in my case, i looked up the cashed checks online (bank account - online access) and receipt #s were printed on back of checks... try that
