AVM changed to card ordered on 9/10 for me and wife.

Cards Ordered

Hi guys,

Last night (09/12/2002), AVM changed for my wife and me to 'Cards ordered on 09/12/02'. But, we have moved to a new address just 4 days ago. Should we inform INS about the change of address or will the postal dept redirect the mail from Dept of Justice also to the new address? Any input will be appreciated.

Go to the post office and inform them

Hey man,

I had problems with change of address. If you see my postings in this thread, you will understand.

Any way if you moved to a near by city, then go to the old post office and talk to the carrier there and tell him that you are expecting a very important mail and that you moved to a new address. Also tell him that you have given the forwarding address. So ask him to send it your forwarding address. Some times the mail man can drop it in the old mail box, or can send it back to sender, or can forward to your new address. In my case, they dropped in the old mail box and is missing now. When I talk to him now, the mail man says may be the people who were living there could have disacarded. The post office is supposed to forward your mail, but in my case they did not. So talk to ur post office and be on top of it till you get it. Also do it today or tomorrow, because you will get the cards within a week from the ordered date.

Thanks Tirupathi for your response. Yes, I am going to do it anyway. I have moved to a new address which is like 10 min drive from the old address. So, I am planning to wait for the mail man at the old address tmw and deal with the situation.

Did anybody inform INS about change of address, after hearing the message 'cards ordered'? Please share ur experiences. Thanx
 
Plastic Card Received

I received the cards today. I hope the other two couples who were at Hartford the same day as myself received them too.

Stamped at Harford, CT on Friday23rd August. AVM changed to Cards Ordered on September 10th.

AVM message has NOT changed to 'cards ordered' yet!!!

Is there number to call the local INS or I need check with IIO at VSC???

Recd card

Received card today (stamped 8/20, cards ordered 9/10)

My wife's and daughter's card has wrong info! What a piece of crap! The ordeal continues!

Received cards for my wife and myself

My wife received her card on saturday(sep14) and i received mine yesterday evening(monday,sep 16).Stamping done on Aug 14.Approval date Aug 01.

However my wife card has spelling mistake in name.Anybody know what form should I use to rectify this??

Call IIO

You have to call IIO and explain the error. IIO will send you a letter requesting the incorrect card, proof for the right information.
Then the new card will be made. It may take a while to get the letter from IIO depending on where your file is.

Finally, My wife and I, both received our cards today (09/17/2002).
It took 5 days to get the cards after the cards were ordered.

Recently, someone has predict that cards are only ordered on the last day/week of a month. It seems like this 'theory' is not correct.
