:mad:Went for interview today, spent more than 2 hrs before being called to the window only to hear from officer:"I'm sorry, but your file cannot be located, perhaps it is with different unit. We'll have to reschedule your interview..." i was about to believe this, but few minutes later i learned from another person there the exactly same thing just happened to him. Anyone else out there with the same kind of experience? I seen somewhere on this forum people being told during interviews their name checks were still pending whereas they had them all done. Could it be they just have invented new form of excuse to delay you?

Seeing as your N-400 has been pending for over 2 years and the USCIS is still playing games with you, you should seriously consider filing a WOM lawsuit. If you don't take action, there's no telling how long they will sit on your file.

Be happy that you are filing for N-400 and are able to work. They lost my file when I was waiting for I-360 approval. I was not able to receive a work permit and did not have any other docs that would allow me to work. 3 years lived working illegally thanks to these idiots. What i did is contacted my senator every 2 weeks and even wrote letters to the President.

In addition to what I said earlier...It is a mess there in their offices. While my file was lost, I kept on sending FOIA requests and they kept on saying they could not locate my file. When i finally received a copy of my file, there was a bunch of copies of the documents that do not belong to me but to some other people!
All i can say, keep on calling/writing to them and the senator.

Yes, I saw it happened to someone who was scheduled to have an interview the same time I was (Boston DO). They asked him to stay around while they were looking for the file, but after 1.5 hours they gave up and told him they will have to reschedule him for a later date.

My attorney told me this happens with some regularity.
