Hi,

Can some one tell me whether its good idea to do this or not....

Currently I have H1B stamped which is valid till september 2007, but due to some reasons I could not travel on that H1B.

This year i got another better offer and new company also applied H1B, that got approved. As the stamping in Singapore has become very difficult and US counsulate in Singapore is asking for lot of questions & supporting documents, so my new company HR is asking me to come on old H1B at the port of enty explain why you could not come on old H1B and tell them that I got better offer and I would like to work for the new company.

Can you please suggest me is the the good and feasable approach.....? because new company HR is telling like lot of people got stamped like this, so we can also take a chance like that she is telling.

---- OK, you can travel with the old visa stamp on your Passport. At the POE show your new H1 approval notice of company B, then you can get I-94 valid till the end date of this approval notice

---- There is no need for a new visa stamping on your Passport as long as you have a valid US visa stamp to enter US. This stamping can be from your previous company

---- Hi, read the following statement as posted by you. What does it mean?

my new company HR is asking me to come on old H1B at the port of enty explain why you could not come on old H1B and tell them that I got better offer and I would like to work for the new company.

Hi Subramanya,

Thanks for the response. It means that, new company HR asked me to explain why I could not with previous company (if the ask)

Do you know anybody who entered into USA like this....?

Even you enter with your old H1 you can not work for your new company unless you make a transfer to new company from your old h1.

Your new H1 is a piece of paper and does not have any value for you unless it activated.

At the poit of entry, if officer knows that you are not going to your old sponser you will be deported immediately.

Previous posting is totally misguiding you with a immature member
