its my pleasure to join this forum really, and i have few queries
first, in case of approved visa for me and my family, can i travel first then they follow me after 1 or 2 months, but the point i wrote in the form that we will travel together...so what is your advise حمئ

Thank you all for you input

This is Rayna again, When I was filling in the DS230 I ready did not understand the process at that time and the person who help my husband and I at that time to file in the form explain to us that the questions was asking (21a)who is going with us now and (21b)who will follow as of the deadline of the Program which was September of the same year the visa will be given.

sometime people make mistake because they just do now know and now I found myself in the case. He is the only child I have. some one told me my only bet is adoption which I just do not know.

I am grateful for all of your input, at least now I have a clue of what I am into.

Rayna,

Did you mention your son on your N-400 form when you applied for citizenship?

That's fine, assuming you are the winner - the principal applicant must enter before or at the same time as derivatives. As long as they all enter before their visas expire, no problem. (Obviously each person must have their own visa packet with them when they arrive.)

That is basically true, but as long as the I-551 is showing "Valid only if Acc/FTJ Father/Mother/Spouse". I remember there were visa missing the FTJ (follow to join) part. If this is the case the winner must travel with the derivatives.

From the DoS website:

When You Have Your Diversity Immigrant Visa – What You Should Know

If you are issued a diversity immigrant visa, the consular officer will give you your passport containing the immigrant visa and a sealed packet containing the documents which you provided. It is important that you do not open the sealed packet. Only the U.S. immigration official should open this packet when you enter the United States. You are required to enter the United States before the expiration date printed on your visa. When traveling, the primary (or principal) applicant must enter the United States before or at the same time as family members holding visas.

And I personally know people who have entered separately and been fine (and all got their visas at the same interview). USCIS can see on their systems that the principal has already enter entered. I understood that follow to join applied to derivatives getting their visas at a later date than the principal, although I never looked too deeply into it as it isn't relevant for us.

Thank you sussie and T, SO my wife and my son will be fine when enterd separetly after me during the visa validation, well should i inform KCC with that specailly it filled as they will accompany me, or i can modify that in the interview?

There is an exception to this rule. If principal spouse takes chargeability from dependent one, they both must get visa simultaneously and they both must enter US simultaneously. Because in that case they are both considered principals, and both dependents.

Thank you, but the point is i wrote on the form that they will join me , now i perhaps change my opinion sort of dont want them to face any troubles in our first days over there, so should i inform kcc to correct my answer or its easy to inform them in the interview ..or its not that important as long as we all will make inter view and take visas , so its my decision

husband is the winner

Just mention to the CO in the interview that this is what you want to do, and if there is any problem with it he will tell you. It won't affect whether or not you get the visa.

That means you did not take your spouse's chargeability and the simultaneous issue is not for you.
1. Probably not, unless you ohoto in your passport is the same as in DV-14, and passport is old.
2. No, you do not have to reissue his passport.

Thanks sussie, tell me do you know any person applied with old photo and his case is refused during the interview, because i submit old photo for me...just lots of worry
