Hello Experts,
I'am looking for some guidance on how to approach this problem. About 4 weeks ago, I received my approval letter (from the local DO, NOT the benefits center), saying that I was approved, come get your stamp etc..
I got my passport stamped the next day. I was getting anxious to get that card, as I plan to travel next month, so I made an infopass last week and the IO told me "your file is still here, and that many people were approved under the new memo guidelines, that's why it will take a while.".
Now, maybe I'm missing something, but how hard is it to transfer even a thousand files? Am I just getting the runaround? This is the Tampa DO by the way.
I see that everyone else gets their "card production ordered" email within days, but seems like these people are just sitting on the files.
I also wrote a letter to the disctict director requesting transfer of my A-file to the national benefits center. That has had no effect thus far. I filed a service request with the NBC, I got their reply saying that "you case is pending a background check". So the NBC doesn't even know that the Tampa DO approved my I-485 almost a month ago.
What can i do? I'm beginning to get a little apprehensive about travelling, even though I have the I-551 stamp? Any guidance/input will be appreciated.
TIA
