Need Guidance! A-file not transferred, GC not received!

Hello Experts,
I'am looking for some guidance on how to approach this problem. About 4 weeks ago, I received my approval letter (from the local DO, NOT the benefits center), saying that I was approved, come get your stamp etc..

I got my passport stamped the next day. I was getting anxious to get that card, as I plan to travel next month, so I made an infopass last week and the IO told me "your file is still here, and that many people were approved under the new memo guidelines, that's why it will take a while.".

Now, maybe I'm missing something, but how hard is it to transfer even a thousand files? Am I just getting the runaround? This is the Tampa DO by the way.

I see that everyone else gets their "card production ordered" email within days, but seems like these people are just sitting on the files.

I also wrote a letter to the disctict director requesting transfer of my A-file to the national benefits center. That has had no effect thus far. I filed a service request with the NBC, I got their reply saying that "you case is pending a background check". So the NBC doesn't even know that the Tampa DO approved my I-485 almost a month ago.

What can i do? I'm beginning to get a little apprehensive about travelling, even though I have the I-551 stamp? Any guidance/input will be appreciated.

TIA

Traveling on the stamp

If you have to travel, I would go ahead and travel on I-551 stamp and have someone check your mailbox while you are gone. If your friend or anyone who is checking your mailbox for the GC, if he/she could FedEx you the GC to which ever country you are going to be in that would be awesome.

Thanks for the tip Atlanta_Brother. I will do that. I am worried that if I dont get the card, on re-entry their computer systems will also show what the national benefits center is showing which is that my app is still in "background check", and I'll get the "special" treatment :( .

Didn't the infopass officer tell you that your are approved? So what if it is under the new guidelines.

Yeah, he did, I 'm not questioning/worrying about being approved. I'm worried about the disconnect between the two (ie. NBC vs. local DO). NBC says you're case cannot be adjucated at this point...blah, blah..., and of course local DO says approved, but hasn't sent my info to NBC.

At the POE, do they have access to the local DO's systems, or just the NBC??

PS. And that disconnect is what is delaying the production of my card as well.
