Naturalization document question

Hi Guys,

I know it's a trivial question but I would like to ask if it is a good idea to use a highlighter to make the information sent to the USCIS look more transparent? (not on the N-400 but on the attached documents)

If applying on the basis of marriage to a USC, is it fine to highlight names on joint account statements etc. for more transparency or would they not like that? Should I explain briefly what I will send by writing a cover letter or putting some sticky notes on the documents?

Thanks.

Do not highlight any fields on application or include any sticky notes. Any clarifications should be included in a cover letter.

USCIS contract facilities (lockboxes) use scanners to read and capture data. Anything that obscures data can be problematic for the scanners and ultimately--YOU.

No need to highlight

There is no need to highlight any facts in the documents that you have attached. If you need to clarify any information that you have provided on the application, just add it on an paper separately. Documents will also be scanned by the USCIS so highlighting will affect the verification process. This will automatically mess up the processing of your applications.
