N400 Timelines, San francisco - Sept 08 thread

You are on a roll pkhona.
I did the FP on Sat at the scheduled time .. well 30 min prior actually.
Was in an out in 10 min or so. I don't think there is any problem just showing up there as far as I could tell. Sat there are plenty of meters too. I just parked right in front of the entrance. Low key and very efficient.
Now lets see how long the IL takes. Seems like it's moving very quickly for some at least. RSRK did you get your FP letter yet?

After waiting for 6-7 weeks I finally took an infopass on 21st Nov and met the IO to enquire about my FP notice. According to what he saw on the computer, my FBI name check was already done and even though he was not sure, probably it was based on my earlier FP taken in Jan 2008 for the renewal of my GC. So if this is true, according to him, most likely I should receive something in mail by DEc end, maybe the interview letter? I do not know, but I am glad that the FBI name check atleast is done!

Guys, u will not believe that.
I had my interview this morning at 10:30. Came a little after 10:00 and was called right at 10:30 by a friendly Asian-looking lady in her late forties or early fifties. She swore me in inside her office and started going over my N-400. Everything was fine for the exception of my middle name which was spelled differently on my birth certificate and all other documents. I told her that there are so many different ways to spell a foreign names that it is almost impossible to match it all. She understood that and said that the middle name on my Naturalization Certificate will match the one on my Birth Certificate. I had no problems with that.
After we were done with N-400 she gave me a test. 6 very simple questions on civics, then she asked me who is on a one dollar bill and I had to write it on a piece of paper: "George Washington is on a one dollar bill".
Then she asked when is my unit going to be deployed again. I answered sometime next year. After all she asked me to wait outside because she needed to talk to her supervisor.
I waited for about 5-10 minutes. She came out and told me to come back at 13:00 for administrative oath ceremony. I couldn't believe it at first. Anyways, I hanged out till 13:00. After I came back I was called to the other room by very nice guy in his mid-forties. He introduced himself and told me he is going to administer my oath. We both raised right hands and I just repeated after him. After that he took away my GC and gave me the Naturalization Certificate.
I still can't really believe it. I am a US citizen. Wow...
I wish everybody on this forum good luck, smooth process and thank you very much for sharing your experiences and advises.
