N400 Application RFE, FPs and Interview Dates

I have not sent my complaint yet. I don't know which bit of "I did not send it right away because I was concerned it might delay my case (I was thinking of sending it after the oath) but since my case is being delayed anyway maybe I should send it in." was unclear.

As for pissing off the officer, I'd like to know on which planet filling as per the rules and answering questions properly and politely should constitute "pissing off the officer."

You take this process too serious, just relax and your case will move along. Your politeness might be rude to another person, who knows? Yes, I see you didn't send the compliant, I just had a typo in my initial response. Just wait till you are done and complain, because it could be helpful to improving process. In most cases, complaints are effective when they are focused on improving customer experiences, as opposed to blasting the officers or service provider.

You might have pissed off the officer, so she is delaying your case as a mild punishment. You could have waited for entire process to be over, and send your complaint.

I wouldn't term it as pissing off. If the applicant has talked rudely then I would consider that. I don't think, any of us would try doing that during an interview. Sometimes USCIS hires trainees who aren't aware of the process. Approving a case puts the ONUS on the officer. If they are in doubt, they usually put the decision ON-HOLD. Getting a response or decision on your case depends on how well and fast the officer might have communicated the case to thier supervisor and received a response. Some are slow learners and take time to do thier job vs. some are slackers.

I would write a complaint after the case is approved. That way, the office has some feedback on the process.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking: send it after. Although a few posts above I considered maybe sending it earlier, I'm still thinking it will go out after the case is decided. My letter focuses on facts. I am convinced the IO was incompetent but I do not use such qualification in my letter. I present the facts and will let the USCIS decide what it will. I know that foaming at the mouth, being impolite or coloring the facts in a questionable way will nullify whatever argument I have.

Its been almost 2 months now after receiving YL. No sign of IL. :(

Nope. Nothing on the horizon. :(. Running into December soon. Around Thanksgiving, all processing will slow down and take us into December. So hell lot of a wait. Wish I lived in Arizona. I would be sitting with my US passport now.

Any news on your IL?

Case transferred

Just got an email from USCIS saying my case has been transferred to DC local office.

Got the YL Yesterday. This was sent to my old address. It was dated end of September. The USPS did their job and forwarded it to my current address. The disturbing part here is, I changed my address partaining to my N400 with USCIS on the 21st of August and even received a address change confirmation letter from them to my new address around the 25th of August, yet the YL was sent to my old address. I called USCIS to tell them about this and the customer service lady confirmed my address change and new address. She did not have an explanation as to why the YL was sent to my old address. What if my actual interview letter is sent to my old address and the USPS misses it, I will not know about it. Has this happened to any one in this forum?

I moved recently too. As you mentioned, USCIS has sent me the confirmation on change of address. Hopefully I'll see the interview letter at my new address. Calling the customer service won't make any sense because the interview letter is already mailed out.

Any news on your case transfer?

N4,

Just hope your old mailman is smart enough to continue to forward all USCIS related mail to your new address. You won't be the first person to be screwed by USCIS, even though you did the proper thing, notifying them of change of address. Just hope for the best, your interview letter should show up in about 4-10 days.

Has anyone retained the USCIS envelope in which the interview letter came in? If so, can they check if it has a "Return service requested" written on it.

I believe all USCIS mail have "return service requested" stamp. I once receive USCIS mail forwarded from my new address, even though it had "return service requested'", I was nice to my mailman in my previous residence.

Interview Letter received

Luckily, USCIS sent the interview letter to the new address. Interview scheduled for Jan 6,2011. Updated signature.

As a side note, the USCIS envelope does not have "return service requested" stamp on it.

I got the IL too! So happy! :)

My interview was on the 01/06/2010. Everything went smoothly. I can't even remember what questions they asked because the interview was quick. I was interviewd after 3PM for 2:40PM interview. It was worth the wait. Not complaining at all.
