N-400 without income

My mother in law has been in the US for over 5 years as a permanent resident. We have shown her as a dependent on the one of her children's tax returns. Will there be a problem with her citizenship application since she has no income or assets?

Agreed. In the case of OP's mother-in-law, she'd have to bring copies of the tax refunds of the child who claimed her as a dependent.
