n-400 "lack of good moral character"

There are so many people say they like this country, so great ,blahblah.....
Dont forget!! When you become a US citizen, you have agreed to defend the US Constitution (I wonder how those people pass their civic tests)

Here is the First Amendment regarding Religion and Expression:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

So if you think this government is not corrupted, then act accordingly. Don't be a Hypocrite! No one has the right to judge another person's speech.

The First Amendment concerns governmental restrictions on free speech, not actions of private individuals and organizations. The operators of this (and any other forum) have a perfect right to restrict access to it in any way they see fit, and to remove the posts they find disruptive.

Like I said, people come here for help and useful information, not to hear insults and angry rants. If you cannot behave yourself, take your anger and insults somewhere else. The internet is a big place. If you want to rant and rave, open your own blog and you can scream your heart out there as much as you wish.
You are not helping anyone here.

You're quite welcome, ccczzzzz! :D I agree with Bobsmyth's advice to go see someone at the DO (perhaps the District Director) to check if this can be resolved outside the appeals process. Good luck/God bless as you pursue this further!

I already sent the N-336 out the next day I received my denial letter from the postal office, the postal office delayed the mail one month, and the letter says I have 33 days to respond from the date when they made the decision. So I'm not sure if my appeal will be accepted because it's already been 39 days, and immigration just got my N-336 yesterday(express mail). I will check my bank account in a couple of days and see if they cashed the $605 check I sent to them. I also went to the Registrar of Voters yesterday and got an official document states that my status as a voter has been canceled over a month ago. I don't know why this issue could be so complicated, all immigration have to do is to call and ask the Registrar of Voters about my information if they think my "computer printouts" are not sufficient evident to prove my deregistration.
My question is...........if they don't accept the N-336, could I apply the N-400 again right away?

What should we do?

Yes, unless the denial says otherwise.

I haven't applied for my citizenship yet. I am eligible now. I remember that couple of years back during 2008 elections, I kept getting campaign calls and in one of the calls I asked why they were calling me even though I am not a citizen. They said I am registered. So I called my county and told them the problem and they said they will take care of it. This is for both me and my wife. When I look at registered voters web page in Secretary of state now, both our names come up as 'Not eligible to Vote'. Should we not have any problems if we submit our N400 then? Can I mark the question 'Have you registered to Vote?' as 'NO'. We both do not remember registering to vote. We are quite sure we did not fill any voter registration form.

Bobsmyth - Your advice is well appreciated.

Unless you signed a registration card stating that you are US citizens, you did not register to vote so you would answer NO. You were likely signed up automatically through DMV, which sent over your information to the registration board. When you got the call, they didn't realize you were not eligible to vote..all they saw is that your information was sent to voter registration.

Thanks

Appreciate your Reply. Thanks.

There are three different questions in the application:

1. Have ever registered?
2. Have ever claimed to be a citizen?
3. Have you ever voted?

So I think if you find your name show up in the local voter registrar; it means you are registered...and have
to answer yes to question #1. I check my name against the voter list in my county today and my name did not
show up...and I don't believe that there such an automatic registration...so if you find your name on the list
you need to figure out how it got in there...go from there

Incorrect. Being on a voter registration list does not automatically mean the applicant registered to vote. It means the information was either transmitted to registration board by another agency like DMV or the person registered themselves by stating they are a USC.
The N-400 asks if you ever registered to vote, not if you appear on a voter registration list..not the same thing.

N400 Voter registration / interview in 2 weeks

I have an interview in couple of weeks. I was wrongly resgistered to Vote by DMV. I even have a letter from Bureau of Elections acknowledging that I was regsitered to vote in error during a DMV transaction. So I am covered from that aspect. I have proof that it's not my mistake.

So in my N400 form I marked as 'No' for the question have you ever registered to vote? Now should I voluntarily show the letter from Bureau of Elections to the interviewing officer during the interview or Should I only show if the issue ever comes up?
Your inputs will be appreciated.

Do it voluntary. It's better to admit the fault. In case the officer doesn't get a chance to focus on the voting part, your application will get denied as it is considered lieing when you knew you were mistakenly registered to vote. You'd then have to appeal and send extra 600 of fee. The application might say "decision cannot be made yet," but it's nothing to worry about.

*Might* is a big word.

This country never invited anybody, if you have problem, leave and go to a better one.
I am here because I love this country.

You couldnt have said it any better, if he thinks that our government is corrupt, maybe it is time he try moving back to his country, lets see how well it works out for him. And besides registering to vote when you are not a citizen means he had no regard for the countrys laws

What I clearly see here is a denial for false claim to US citizenship because he suspected false claim on the registration and later had it confirmed documentally
IO tried to apply timely retraction clause (http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/Laws/Mem...on212_a_6_immi_natl_act_illegal_violators.pdf , page 28, clause (viii) ), that is why he asked ccczz to unregister.
According to http://www.aila.org/content/default.aspx?docid=35805, timely retraction must be made during the interview or earlier.
However, later USCIS figured out timely retraction to false claim cannot be done because more than a year passed or because of other possible reasons. Pretty clear.
Has nothing to do with registrations themselves, just to the fact he had a false claim to citizenship and timely retraction could not be applied for this case.
