Mass RFEs?

We got the same RFE, my wife and self. I want to believe it has to do with finger printing.

checked online status and it read request for additional evidence sent. Has anybody seen this before. I can't undestand what they would be asking for.

You mean you never received an RFE in the mail other than FP then? Did you finish your FP and if so, did the case proceed to the next step (i.e interview letter) ? Could you give more details please, including all dates for FP & RFE. Thanks.

I received just the FP notice on august 4 for august 22.

Considering the number of days elapsed since July 29th and you didn't receive any other notice other than FP, I am thinking the RFE is related to FP notice then.
May be they upgraded their systems to change the status even for FP's now. Let's see.

Seems like your case is getting closed in less than 3 months.

My d/o is Miami too but the field office is west palm beach. can I expect to get done in 3 months?

I am 120 days away from filing the N400.

There must have been a mass update of the on-line system last night as many people report getting some type of a status change in their on-line status. I also got a status change that says that my case has been transfered for a standard interview or something like this.
 
I think it is all part of the effort of USCIS to launch the new online system to give a more "accurate" and more up-to-date status. Although there are still 39 days till the day the new system is available. They may be in the middle of doing some kind of system/database update.
 
We got an RFE email as well last night around 7.15 PM. We got the NOA and FP apt letter. Assume this is a software bug at the USCIS system, it would be interesting to see if this has affected other applicants (such as I-485) as well. I just can't imagine the panic that this might be causing to I-485 applicants.

Hi all:

My wife and me submitted N-400 apps on July 31, checks were cashed on Aug 10, and NOA with case number was recieved on Aug 13.

To my surprise and dismay, when I checked the case status online, it says that for both my wife and me, RFEs were mailed on Aug 12?

I am now awaiting with suspense what the RFE can be about???? No complications in the case as far as I know - we both listed 2-3 minor traffic citations. Does USCIS issue RFE for traffic citations? The N400 instructions said no documentation required for minor traffic citations under $500. Can anybody throw any light? Or do you think we are victim to mass RFE?
 
I also got the same message, but I also received my FP (Notice date:10th August), scheduled for August 20th, 2009. I am going in next through infopass to sought this out. I personally think its a glitch in the system, will let you guys know.

RFE for N-400 application

My online messages says RFE for n-400. What additional info they might have needed? Is it an error message or FP message?

Here are my case details:


Send N-400 TX , 7/28
RD 7/29
FP Letter received: 8/8
FP : 8/29 schedule (Early FP 8/12)
Status changed to on 8/13 to : on 8/6 we send letter for additional evidence.

But I still didnt get any letter yet.

Any idea?
 
Ok, I got the same email too. They issued a FP letter on Aug 6, I received on Aug 10 and the appointment was for Aug 20 originally.
I walked in on Aug 12 for FP since I'm traveling out of the country this week and would have been unable to attend original appointment.
FP were just fine, it was the third time I was fingerprinted at the same ASC in the last 3 years.
Took more or less 5 minutes, just like the other times, the only difference, no picture was taken at this time.
On the following day, Aug 13, I received the weird update.
I just called the customer service, pretended to have not received a NOA and got forwarded to a I/O.
She was nice and she sounded like she knew what she was talking about.
She said I have been put in queue for the interview and as soon as a date and time are free, they will send me an interview letter (hopefully for after Oct 24, since that's my 3-yr GC anniversary).
I asked about the email update. She said it was an error and already a lot of people called. She said they do not need anything from me at this point.
I kinda knew this, but just wanted to make sure.
I hope this helps everybody else.
 
Sarrebal, Thanks for the creative work in getting this info for all of us....this really puts to rest the mass rfe issue -- it was in error.

we just completed out FP, and are waiting for the interview...
 
I also contacted Immigration today. Unfortunatly the customer service rep didn't know what he was talking about. He basicly just read the online status to me. Didn't do anything to really see wether it's an error or not.

But since I know he didn't know what he was talking about, I didn't worry too much about it. He took my information and said they'd be contacting me within 45 days with a response.
