Mass RFEs?

Today my case status changed on USCIS website. I received a fingerprint notice date July 23rd. August 11th was my fingerprint date. I got my fingerprint done and later checked with FBI that they cleared same day. Today the staus says as RFE issued on July 23rd, 2009. for both me and my wife.

On July 23, 2009, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case N400 APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION. Once we receive the requested evidence or information and make a decision on the case, you will be notified by mail. If you move while this case is pending, call 1-800-375-5283 to update your address.

The date of RFE is same as notice date of July 23rd for fingerprinting. I have not received anything else than FP notices from USCIS.
What is wiered is that the date of RFE as per above is the same as that of FP notice. Is this normal ? How does FP notice issue normally shows in status ?

Did you forget to include photos or photocopy of Green Card?

I don't remember reading a similar case like yours, but that doesn't mean that someone might have posted a similar question. I would wait to get that letter. I guess at the time they scheduled your FP they realized they wanted some additional document or information.
 
Nope.. I suubmitted everything(photos/GC copy etc.). It has been 21 days since July 23rd, nothing in mail yet. My status did not get updated after I received the FP notice. It got updated today only. So if a real RFE was issued on July 23rd it is hard to believe both RFE for me and my wife were lost in mail, whereas I got the FP notice of same date
 
Received my FP notice today, but when I checked my case status on the USCIS site this is what I see:

I'm confused, the notice date for my FP notice is 8/10/09, yet they say they mailed me a notice on 8/7/09, I have received no other notice. Is this anyway related to the FP notice, or is this something else? Anybody else get anything similar?
 
My cooment are not abput your case but what your got show USCIS do try to improve online status. We should check our online status regularly now
 
Even my status says the same....i am confused....i did my FP today and never received anything apart from the NOA and FP notice
 
It looks like something is seriously amiss in USCIS. It looks like several applications have had their status changes to "RFE Issued". I checked status of application randomly atleast 40 sequences numbers before and after mine. All of them have their status updated to "RFE issued".

Maybe that is just fingerprinting notice. They request for your FP and that
is RFE

Others have reported the same thing..sounds like a system status error.
 
My status also got updated today (Aug 13th), and it says RFE sent on August 5th. My FP notice is dated Aug 6th. I did FP today. Any relation?
 
It could be a FP notice but that doesn't explain why people who have completed FP or have already received FP notices are having the same status change.
 
The USCIS online status system has been notorious for being unreliable. I wouldn't loose sleep worrying about what your online status says, unless you want to make this into another conspiracy thread.;)
 
Yeap .. I have the same RFE's for me and my wife. It has something to do with July 23rd,2009. Looks like clerical data entry(wrong code for FP notice issued).

Similar situation

Received finger printing notice dated 08/06/2009 but case status says request for more information mailed on 08/05/2009?

What is it? Is this means finger printing or something else?

I have the same issue, i just received FP notice (Notice date:august 10th), but my case status online shows Application Type: N400 , APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION

SO i called the 800 number , the woman told me the same thing as what I see on the online status, she said I should wait for two weeks. My FP date is August 20th, 2009. I also scheduled an appt through infopass to go to the local office and sought this out. Hoping its just a glitch. Will post after my FP

App received: July 27th,2009
NOA recieved: July30th,2009
FP notice received: 13th August,2009
same day case status online showed RFE request mailed on august 5th,2009, but never received a actual letter.
FP:August 20th,2009
 
It seems that only those who have done FP and have not got IL have this
update. Those who got IL and not completed Oath got update last weekend
with different status.

I believe USCIS is trying to do someting for us though their wording are weird
Perhaps they are experienmenting

It is just like those who are done with interview but before oath all got their
online status to "An interview will be scheduled". Right now there are 3 and only 3 distinct online status

(1) Receied status ==for those who have not got FP yet and for those
who completed oath already
(2) This RFE status = = Those who are done with FP but not got IL yet
(This status was creeated today by USCIS)
(3) A interview wil be scheudled status == for those who got IL and not oath
yet
(This status was created Last Saturday)


I predict the next status USCIS will create are "oath has been scheduled"
for those who got oath letter regardless wthether they have taken oath yet nor not)
