She laughed? She probably didn\'t want to disappoint you as that can mean months for April cases only.
I can\'t believe there are only 3 persons to handle all these applications... Based on immig.sites info, MD SESA is 3rd SLOWEST region in US (Washington state; Washington,DC ; Maryland) -- all otheres are faster :-(

I don\'t know when they will be moving from 4/6 RIR. Well, let see what happens ?
I think we r the most unluckiest one. I hope we should not face the similar delay during I-140 also.
Anyway, have a nice weekend!!!!

Mdgc! THANK YOU for this update, at least some movements!
Hasn\'t she shared any ideas or preditions how they plan to deal with overload?

So, it takes SESA 2,5 months (Nov6-Jan22) to complete 1 week (Apr2-10).

Thanks again, Mdgc!
Sol.

Have anyone from us talked to SESA resently? Any predictions, timeframes to complete April cases?

Just have read:
DOL Hiring to Review LC Cases

On a positive note, the Department of Labor advised that they are trying to
fill job vacancies in order to help with the backlog problems. The
Department of Labor received a large number of cases filed to meet the April
30, 2001 deadline for relief for persons who are out-of-status. In addition
to this April 30th, Section 245(i) “bubble” of cases, they are seeing a
dramatic increase in usage of H2B cases. This is a result of post-9/11
employer concerns regarding the legal status of their workforce. The H2B
case is filed for a temporary, non-professional worker.

April 10 th ?? Right...

Yeap, I just called them. She said 4/10. Atleast, it is moving. Lets hope for good.

hi all
i picked this off breaking news at immigration-law.com dated 01/15/2002.

"At the DOL-AILA Liaison Meeting of 11/30/2001, DOL released that in fiscal year 2001, DOL received over 106,000 new regular permanent labor certifications nationally. In addition, over 235,000 245 (i) labor certifications were received prior to the April 30, 2001 deadline. The 245 (i) cases impacted heavily in New York, New Jersey, Texas, Illinois and California where 65-70% of the 245 (i) cases were filed. In these states, the current processing times do not factor in the 245 (i) cases because the SESAs have not reached these cases yet. In New York current processing for permanent cases is about 5 ½ years with RIR cases taking from 10 to 12 months. In Texas, regular cases are being processed in about 2 ½ years with RIR cases taking about 1 year. In California, regular cases are being processed in about 2 years with RIR cases taking 7 to 8 months. When the states with the most serious backlogs reach the 245 (i) bubble, the processing times will increase greatly. Some smaller states such as Vermont, West Virginia, Illinois, Oklahoma, Iowa, Nebraska, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming and Hawaii have actually passed the 245 (i) bubble and consequently processing in these states will be quicker. Chronic staffing shortages at the SESAs and DOL regional offices will reportedly continue"

Although it does not mention Maryland - we all saw how long it took for them to go from April 5 to Apr 10............. anyway...........

Just called SESA and spoke to someone - they are processing April 10 for RIR and issuing receipts for May 3.

JA26

Just called SESA.....

Nothing has changed. They r processing 4/10 RIR and 3/8 Non-RIR.
They have almost same # of staff as before. 5 regular staff and 2 supervisors. No idea when the date is going to move forward.
They just can\'t predict how much time they will be taking for April processing. Well, let wait and see...
I can\'t imagine, once it is out from MD how long Philly will be taking.
