If my girlfriend/fiance is over here on a VISA WAIVER, is it OK if we get married during her stay here??? Will there be any adverse effects?

FYI, she will be leaving after we get married for 6 months to finish school. During that time we will apply for her Immigrant VISA. Anyone see anything wrong with this???

And you are........ ?
Quick answer is marrying under VWP has no problem if as you said she would leave after that, but she needs to convice POE officer that she will leave after wedding if officer found out there is wedding plan.

Nothing at all. After you get marrieda and she returns to her country, you should file for a K-3 visa so she can return to the USA to be with you. The 6 month timeframe should be about enough.

you don't need to file for K-3 if you don't want to. You can simply apply for an immigrant visa alone, without K-3.

True, you can get your wife an IR-1 visa, but these usually take much longer to process than the K-3.
