L1 marrying citizen

Hi
I am currently in US on L1 status working. I am engaged to my boy friend who has already applied for US citizenship.
Now my question is:
1. Do we have to wait for his citizenship to avoid problems later when he applies for me to stay ?
2. If we get married in India before he gets citizenship, does it effect my L1 or does it cause problem later for us to stay together.
3. What is the best option: K1 or k3 or I130. I am not clear.
4. Can we file any papers before his citizenship comes in?

1. you don't have to.
2. no
3. If you keep staying under L1 in the US, I-130 + I-485 is way to go.
4. He can file I-130, but you cannot file I-485. I don't see benefit to file only I-130 in advance in your situation.

1. Get married when you want. With your status it's not a problem either way.

2. No, you are OK to return to the US and file your application as long as you still have your L1.

3. Since you are already living and working in the US, don't use K1 or K3, use I-130 + I-485.

4. You can file before he is a citizen, but it won't help you at this point. Applying when he doesn't have citizenship won't change your status, and you'll later need to have the application upgraded when he becomes a citizen. Since he is so close to being a citizen, wait for his citizenship so he'll be known as a citizen from day 1 of the application.
