EAD question

I received my EAD in the mail last week.

My company attorney and employer immdly demanded and received a photocopy of the same ( one each ).

My H1 is valid until mid-\'03. I don\'t want to use EAD.

Question : Can the employer unilaterally change my status from H1 to EAD without my signing a new I-9 ?

regarding this . The reply i got from them said you are automatically
changed to EAD status . I asked them this question as my h1 expires
in a few weeks .

waiting for approval now !!

BTW, i am using 180 rules with layoff before 180 days. I will post once I join the new company and the GC gets approved. I think I will be the first few 180 rule user - I hope it will be successful.

Wating for FP

Anyone applied I-485 in July received thier Finger Printing notice yet? I\'ve received my AP & EAD but no FP. It\'s been more than 6 months. Any input or advice for follow up? Thanks

Received FP notice 01/14/2002, scheduled on 02/19/2002.
