       Right now, seing approvals in 10 months from RD.

With no new H-1 applications and few 485 apps ,
I am guessing the time could be cut down to 8-9 months.

NSC has hardly anything to work on !!
2002 could really turn out to be a great year !!!!

So 1/18 was what you heard on AVM about your wife\'s EAD approval and 1/23 you actually received the plastic card, is that right?

my rd 08/08/01, nd 09/19/01.
got my ead and ap, but still waiting for FP notice.
looks like NSC is issueing FP notices based on location.
recently one of my freiend from minnesota got his FP notice.
Any idea?

                Yes,Got back last week.
The trip was great.Missing India a lot.

Looks like things are moving pretty
smoothly . I applied for EAD on my own
and got it in 15 days.

If I want to change from H1 to EAD at my work, how do I do it?

What is the official way of stopping H1 and making EAD as authorization for employment. I want to save H1 6 yrs whatever is left in it. suggestions please.

I seem to be the unlucky one with the receipt notice list in mail!!!
I got a copy of my cancelled check from the bank and got one of our (mine & my wife\'s) LIN # that way. I still don\'t have the other LIN # as the bank hasn\'t sent me back the other check yet!

I checked the LIN# around mine to try and figure out what her\'s would be and I was surprised.

Can anyone guess how many applications (for all types of cases - 485/140/131 etc etc) were assigned LIN #s by INS Nebraska on January 9, 2002?

3,865 applications in one single day!!!!! (I also just the number just before i.e. LIN-080-XXXXX and just after i.e. LIN-082-XXXXX to verify that I had got the right range)

Yeps, I am not smoking anything!!!

So, I would not say "NSC has hardly anything to work on !!" as indian_gems says it!

I hope they have enough dedicated and hardworking employees to handle these applications!!!!

I never checked the AVM . As I told we got the copy of receipt after we got the Actuall card. But the date on card has the validity date from 01/18/02.

You are right. But I am sure with 100,000 less h-1 apps ,
it is going to help INS NSC reach there target to approve
485\'s in less than 9 months.

I think that is the reason
people have received EAD\'S in 15 days and difference
between RD and ND is less than 10 days.

(NSC target for 485 approval was set at less than 9 months
- In there last annual meeting.)To be reached by end of 2002.
I dont know if you read that report.

Anyway like you mentioned , hope 2002 works out lucky for all
485 waiters.
 
One more to jump the FP bandwagon

Got my FP notice dated 1/31/2002 today in the mail!! Appointment Scheduled for 3/5/2002. I am from Chicago. I can\'t believe my eyes....
Not used to this kind of treatment from INS!!!

PD:7/99 485 RD: 1/3/2002 ND: 1/9/2002
Got my EAD card on 23rd of Jan 2002, approved on 17th Jan 2002
AP approved on the 21st and
FP notice dated 1/31/2002, received on 2/6/2002.
