Jan. Interview (??) - Chennai/NVC mail screw-up

I am updating the forum with Ms. Walker\'s replies within an hour. I have also told her that.

Is anybody else calling Chennai today?

The line was really bad. The operator said either call back after 10 th. or call after 10 days and immediately hung up on me. I am not certain which.

I tried calling back for some time and could not get through.

Anybody else call?
 
Sent an e-mail

No response from Chennai on e-mail yet..I hope they are working on accomodating our interviews for Feb...

All we can do is Pray and Hope..

When we contacted NVC, they said that they will be sending the petitions shortly. when we receive them, we will schedule the appt.

Should we contact NVC and see if they sent the petitions out again?

I hope they do not say that they did not get our info. before they finalized Feb. interviews.
 
Called NVC

I called NVC this morning & they informed me that Chennai was re-notified the information on January 3rd. They said that they could not mail the petition again as the originals were already sent. So, I don\'t know why Chennai is saying that they are waiting for the petition from NVC.
 
PCC from Chicago.

Hi Guys,
I tried and tried to call Chennai but could not get through last night. Will try again tonite. Meanwhile can we have a list of people applying for PCC at Chicago to track how long it is taking. My details are
GCAPPL applied on 01/03.

Secondly, what are we to do if we get a FEB interview and cannot get a PCC by that time. Any ideas on this?

Response from NVC

Just now called NVC, they say that they have sent case details again to Chennai in the 1st week of Jan. I asked if they have sent electronic copy or the hard copy of the petition. According to this NVC guy, he was told by his supervisor not to disclose this and we need to contact Consulate for further details. I guess they have sent electronic notification again, as NVC no more has original petition papers. I hope Chennai accepts our cases and give us all an interview date in Feb.
 
Mine on 12/31

I applied on 12/31. I think if you do not receive PCC before your interview, just show the acknowledgement. That should be fine. Also, once you apply for PCC, ask your folks to go to regional Passport Office and ask them to reply to the Chicago request. This way you get your PCC in just one week. My passport was issued in Chennai but I do not have any one in Chennai to go to RPO. I just have to wait till some one in RPO wake up to my case.
 
PCC applied 01/07

I applied PCC on 01/07. My new passport was issued at chicago Nov/2001. Last time I called them , they informed me after 45 days eventhough they don\'t get clearance from RPO in India they are going to issue PCC.

I am trying at Hyderabad too.
 
gc_crk : NVC sent memos to Chennai by courier

I called NVC today. The guy told me that memos were sent to Chennai on Jan 3 rd. He also told me that he cannot trace them now. Let us hope that they will reach Chennai this week. Anybody got he same info form NVC?
 
PCC applied on 12/19

Chicago faxed my case to Regional Passport Office on 12/21 and have not heard back from them yet..I will post as soon as I hear back from consulate..Answer was 45 days even if you paid telex charge!!!
 
what documents did you send

Could you let us know what documents you had to send. Can we send the original passport along with the application form? Our passports were issued in New York, so I guess we have to send them photocopies of visa in the cancelled passport too, right? let us know. thanks
 
CALLED NVC

Called NVC just now. They said that the case has been sent on 3rd January. It was sent via courier (DHL) and will reach there within 10 business (working) days. Hope this is useful.

They do not have a tracking # for this courier.
 
I think DHL delivers within three to five working days.

I use DHL all the time and usually 10 business days is their official line. They however deliver much sooner. Most of the time within 3-5 business days.

Now the question is how long will the cases stay in the Chennai mailroom after reaching there. Too many variables. All of them have to fall in place for us to be considered for Feb.

Wait and see.

I was just checking the old jan discussion to check when the dates were released for Jan. I am appalled by this. This is your note saying that you recieved oral confirmation from chennai regarding your date ?? How is that possible that you recieve confirmation and later get denied. I know I am like waking up at the end of the story but makes me very skeptical about oral confirmations from chennai on interview dates??

Agree with you Dandelion

Chennai Desi staffers are very unreliable. I have got 3 diffrent
replies from them when contacted at diffrent times and diffrent
medium.
 
It happened to me too

I was given the date of 29th Jan and then I could not find case in Jan interview list,,I bought my tickets and lost money because of cancellation fee...

Belive me I am not kidding!!!
 
I got same

I called on 9 december night 10.30pm EST, they gave me Jan24 and also told me they sent P4 to Indian address and appointment letter to USA.I guess I was the first caller to chennai for Jan dates and posted here on "Raju1" name

How did you know Chicago faxed your request to RPO , India on 12/21. I would like to know how you contacted Chicago to get the info and contact number(direct line) other than reception.
