It is very difficult to wait

Raziel,

In your case you have received the recommended approval. that's a very good start!!!
Our cases are very different since we do not know if this long waiting will be to get approved or denied!!!

Let's keep checking the mail box!

A relative of mine has been waiting since 2006.
Her case is pending and nobody knows anything.

you are totally right :(

did you send them letters by mail? if so, call them again and tell them where is the answer for your letter "that you sent in mail" !!

usually, name check takes long time, not the recommended approval or the NOID...

Keep us updated

have they cleared your fingerprint yet?

I was fingerprinted before the asylum interview ... 2 weeks "about 11-15-2008"

I don't know if they have cleared the fingerprint... I thought it is related to the name check too...

I didn't receive the final approval yet i.e. letter granting asylum... so I think they are still investigating

OK... I'm a little confused... what is "cleared fingerprints"? :)

I was fingerprinted two weeks after I filed my application too.

I sent two letters to the office and so far nothing. No follow up from the asylum office?

I don't know If I was cleared or NOT to respond to your question thankful. What do you think is happening with my case??

"cleared fingerprint" means that the FBI has received your fingerprint and checked it against their database of people with criminal records. You can call the FBI to confirm this.

This is separate from the name check process.

Thankful,

also, what do you think of this quote from Raziel??

"name check takes long time, not the recommended approval or the NOID..."

Thanks So much Thankful,

Now one last thing : what do you think of this quote from Raziel?

"name check takes long time, not the recommended approval or the NOID..."

LOL I meant name checks are the ones which take long time... they are the delaying factors

while the asylum interview decision "whether it is recommended approval or denial" they usually don't take that long...

this is why I asked you if you mailed them or called them asking about the interview decision... :)

Sorry for any confusion

Thank you Thankful for the phone number... I will call them :D

I just called and they said that the fingerprint is done and finished... so I asked the her "is it cleared?" she said INS has the answer for that, I can only tell you that we received the fingerprints and that we forwarded the status to INS...

I asked her about the name check... she said call INS on (202) 324-2399

I will call them for that... :)

Update: LOL I just called (202) 324-2399 ... answer machine said no inquiries at all, no emails, no fax, no phone call... no nothing... bye :(... you should try it

There is no way for the applicant to find out about the status of the name check request.

true, but the FBI gave this number... anyway, I guess I should continue on waiting the postman everyday... I miss him on holidays :)

or maybe it is time to call, mail or even visit the asylum office....

I would get in touch with the Asylum Office.

Waiting continues

Did u get any reply from USCIS yet?

For my case, it's one month and I haven't received any update to the inquiry I made a month ago through mail. I managed to get the telephone number to the office... I called, and they told me to send a fax and include my telephone number. I did that, but they didn't get back to me. I called again yesterday and told them about the story. They checked and said a decision has not yet been reached about my case as the officer is away (for training). That they would assign another officer to handle my case. That's it. Waiting...
