IR5 entry from India for parents

My father got the IR5 visa last year in January 20. But he was not able to travel to US due to Covid-19 pandemic. Now he is going for his interview at Bombay for expired visa IR5 category.
My questions, does he need to update the DS260? IF yes, how can I do it?
Also does he need to do the finger prints before appearing interview.
Any suggestions or information is appreciated.
Please share if anyone has any info regarding these 2 concerns.
Thanks in advance.
When is the appointment?

@ramandeepk You did not get any direct message from consulate or usatraveldocs and had to email support at usatraveldocs and they responded with "IR5" in the message?
Were you able to schedule medical exam before getting "IR5" response or after?

I was able to get his medical exam done after I schedule the appointment, because they need your appointment letter confirmation at the time of medical. There was no other communication from embassy beside that email they says IR5 category can schedule their appointment.

I would say, keep emailing USTRAVEL DOCS so that whenever you get the email with "IR5", then you will be able to schedule the appointment. If you want you can get your PCC ready before the scheduling coz PCC is valid for 1 year.

@ramandeepk parent's was April and he got email response with IR5 (not sure when), so I would think your parent's renewal should be soon.
Let us know as soon as you hear something.

What is the date of your parents appointment

Wish they would email directly or may be if there was a way to check on their website to see if it is your turn, rather than keep sending email to support at traveldocs.
You happen to email them and got IR5 response otherwise who knows how long before you would have found out.

Can anyone know whether MUMBAI consulate started interviews for IRV visa to the parents of US citizen?
Are your parents documentarily qualified and waiting for interview date.
I am on the same boat for my mother.
As of now no clear information from nvc or mumbai consulate

I sent an email to ustraveldocs and they replied back yesterday with a message:

CR1/2 and IR1/2 applicant’s applying for re-issuance of their Immigrant Visa will need to log in to ustraveldocs.com/in and select “Consulate Appointments” in order to schedule your appointment at the Consulate.

No mention about IR5. My parents got their visa stamped in March 2020.

I am looking to renew my parents visa which expired in May 2020. I didn't get any reply for my email request for renewal from us travel support. however I called the customer service directly and got the response as "Applicant needs to wait as they will receive email for renewal".

Not sure if they are operating on some kind of sequence before they sent out emails for renewal.
has anybody got similar reply? do I need to do anything else in order to receive that email.

Thanks for all info on this thread, really helpful.

As commented on page-4, IR5 expired in April is being renewed. May be they are going in some date order (expiration).
Did you not receive any generic response from support at usatraveldocs?
