Interview in 3-4 months?

I wonder if it's even worth it to ask this question at InfoPass. I still think that the December applicants may have been a fluke, but I'll start getting worried if 2008 NYC applicants begin receiving ILs while we're still waiting.

I think it's definitely worth asking. Even if the December cases were "flukes," we have only a very small sample on this forum, so there must be many more flukes out there.

I would say, even if it's stretching the truth a little bit, that you have first-hand knowledge of December and January applications that were not expedited and already have interviews scheduled, while you've yet to hear of a case from September through November with an interview. Then ask simply, how could this happen?

That's exactly what I'll ask. If we already know of 3 December applicants who have already received their ILs, there definitely must be others. Also, I intend to question them about the 1-2 month timeline. Considering the fact that my timeline will have expired a few days before my InfoPass, I'd like to hear the new timeline that they'll give me. I'm willing to bet a week's salary that it'll be another 1-2 months.

As Bobsmyth pointed out above, there's a definite possibility that the rotting apples will eventually fall down and take action. It's altogether possible that our PDs will eventually fall outside of the published processing dates and we'll inundate USCIS with service requests. I can even forsee lawsuits based on applications with cleared background checks falling out of processing time. Then again, this could be the very reason that March processing updates retrogressed. As I've mentioned a few days ago, USCIS may be hedging against a possible influx of service requests and lawsuits by purposely publishing bogus processing dates.

I think that's exactly what they are doing. I believe that the published stats are nothing more than a tool to help manage the expectations of applicants and a "shield" of sorts to insulate the USCIS from a deluge of lawsuits. From this forum, as well as from the retrogression in dates, it is clear that the USCIS is not being truthful about these processing times. They are either (1) so incompetent that the only way they know which priority dates the individual DOs are processing is to log onto immigration.com, or (2) have an ulterior agenda with the publication of these dates. My money, for what it is worth, is on number 2.

Isn't there always an ulterior agenda with the USCIS?

Truth be told, I wouldn't be surprised if the processing dates remain at June 30 for another 2-3 months, even when some of the faster DOs begin processing 2008 applications.

Well, they have begun processing 2008 applications. The problem is, they forgot about the latter half of 2007. Not that I ever had much confidence in the posted timelines, but I have even less now.

I'm getting worried, that flood applications are now not the priority for USCIS. I wonder what they will say on my interview about this 9 months gap waiting for the interview. This will be my additional 9 months of continues and physical presence. Now it's more than 30 months in the USA.

This list is growing. I added a few more from the Q1 thread that I'd overlooked, plus one reported on another site. Time to take the plunge?

On the other hand, there have been reports of August, September and October applicants from Baltimore getting ILs in the last few days. Since Baltimore also appears in the above list, it is an example of a DO that is producing both 2008 miracle timelines and working slowly through the fall. Hopefully something like this is going on at the other DOs above.
