Hi,
My brother is going to UK on a business VISA. Is it possible for him to come to USA for couple of days on a visitor visa from UK (during the time he is on business visa in UK)

does he need to apply and get visitors visa stamped in india
OR
can he get it stamped at US consulate in London.

would be great if some one provide any info on this.

Thanks

he should get it stamped in london, much easier!!!

It depends on how long your brother going to be in UK. If it is more of a work visa with long term stay rather that a few months then for the time being his residence would be in UK hence he will apply from UK. My brother applied from Uk when he was there working and got the visa.

He will need to prove ties to UK in this case.

thank you for your replies.. my brother will be staying for around 3 -4 months in UK on a business visa.. not sure if us embassay in UK will accept his petition for a visitors visa...

It all depends on the UK status of the applicant. If it is that of a temporary resident, then the US Embassy in London should have no qualms entertaining the visa application. If it is that of a visitor only, then the US Embassy may not be that willing to entertain the application.

Unless he can justifiably prove that the plan to visit US emerged after his arrival in UK, it is in his own interest to apply in India;the US embassy staff in India is familiar with documents/applicant situations in India and is better able to judge his application. He will be able to apply in london but will have far less chance of success ; chances are they will deny stating that he should have applied in India.
