Implications of Name Change

After one goes for the name change who does one have to notify about it besides the following?

1. Place of Work
2. Social Security Office
3. Banks
4. Credit Card Companies
5. Utilities
6. DMV
7. Children's School

8. Grad School?
9. County Office?

What implications are there on your children's records (Passport, Birth certificate etc)

You need to tell them why you abandoned the name they gave you

I don't think you need to get updated birth certificates for your children. You or they will need to attach a copy of your name change record whenever the birth certificate needs to be presented.

I think the implications would be identical to those of a woman who just got married and took her husband's last name. I've never heard of anyone updating their children's birth records, if they have children from a previous relationship.
