I Need Help..... Regarding The Name In Pp And Visa

HI FRIENDS

LAST WEEK MY SPOUCE GOT HER H4 VISA AT DELHI.

IT WAS OUR MISTAKE THAT WE DIDNT NOTICE THAT THE SURNAME WAS NOT THERE IN HER PP.

NOW SHE GOT THE VISA WITH OUT SURNAME ...... AS WRITTEN IN PP. ( HER NAME WAS SPLITTED AS SURNAME AND FIRST NAME)

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE TO ADD THE SURNAME IN PP.....

AFTER ADDING THE SURNAME HOW TO GET CHANGED IN VISA .......

NEED HELP INTHIS REGARD PLEASE....
 
Apply with passport office and apply with consulate for amendment. You are looking at a month. If the visa has been granted I would suggest that this be attempted after coming into US. The Indian consulate here will provide the surname change/addition. Your spouse has to wait till the next visa renewal to get the surname correction in the H4 approval/visa.
If the visa stamp has been given, then there is no need to worry.

she already got the visa. now her PP contains her name which is splitted in to first name and surname.
The same thing was on the Visa too so you think
1.its better to do the correction after coming to US?
2.will there be any probleam to travel in between to india and back? if we correct only her name in PP and left on visa till the visa renewal?

Please advice me...

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE TO ADD THE SURNAME IN PP.....
----------- you can add surname in PP from nearest Indian consulate or Indian embassy but why you want to complicate? If she has same name on passport and same name in Visa sticker she is OK, when she applies Visa next time then she should add the surname to passport copy or will get new passport with surname and in future she should keep both the passports attached
AFTER ADDING THE SURNAME HOW TO GET CHANGED IN VISA .......
-------- if you now change PP then gain she has to apply for Visa again and pay all the fees and I don’t think visa officer will be happy because it was your wife mistake she should have corrected the PP before applying Visa, you are going to increase the work load for Visa officer

She already got the visa. now her PP contains her name which is splitted in to first name and surname.
--------That is OK, I know a friend whose name is Ajit Singh and on Visa, Singh is written as Surname because the person had the passport with name as Ajit Singh and Singh is NOT surname his name is Ajit Singh GILL but GILL was not written on Passport so he got visa as first name Ajit and Surname as Singh
The same thing was on the Visa too so you think

------ No need to do the correction till she has to again apply for Visa stamp and before that she should get her passport changed with complete name that includes Surname then apply for visa , at this time no need to do anything
2.will there be any problem to travel in between to India and back? if we correct only her name in PP and left on visa till the visa renewal?
---- No problems if you don’t change her name in passport now, she can travel to US and back with the same name as on Passport and Visa. if you change now then she will have different name on new passport copy and Visa in old passport copy and she may have to present both the passport and she will have Visa with different name on cancelled passport and new name on new passport copy, it will create problems for her entry to US, change the PP when she needs to get new Visa stamp
