What might be a good Idea that do I need to go on the asylum ( cuz I really can't go back my country) or processing for the Green Card ( but I am out of status F1 student). I have heard is that even though we are in asylum processing if we won the DV, we still can get Green Card but we MUST be in good status. So, I am now out of status since I stopped going school since December.

You are not out of status if your asylum case is pending. If your status was good before you filed I-589, then you may still be able to adjust to LPR based on DV lottery.

That is the key. Were you still in valid non-immigrant status when you filed the I-589? That is the crucial factor.

In the alternative, if you did not accrue 180 days or more of unlawful status before filing the I-589, Consular Processing is still a possibility if unable to file an I-485. In that you fear returning home, a request to file for a DV immigrant visa in a third country is not out of the question.

I applied for the dv lottery 2012 which is now reported only online from 1st may. When i checked it said that my application had not been selected. I want to know if that is the end of the story or is there a chance of being selected in the next couple of weeks or months. i ask this because in the old paper mail system, not everyone was notified at once, people got their notifications on different dates. can anyone help
