Hey I have a quick question about the 751 that I am confused about.

If you are married to a USC, why do you need to apply to remove conditions for a 10 yr GC when you can apply for citizenship on the 3rd year. 2 year conditional GC and then 1 year extension, within that extension cant' you file for citizenship after 7 months. I think its 2.7 years right? They say to apply 90 days before?

You must remove the condition before applying for USC, remember the conditional green card is issued based on the marriage to USC. CIS want to make sure your marriage is true and you are remained married. Having said that there are few other options for divorced couple.

1. Please don’t try to save $ 545!
2. Yes you can do that. But before that USCIS has to approve your I 751 before they approve your N 400. Few years back it was like this when USCIS was slow.
3. To get that 1 year extension you need to apply for I 751.
