I-485 Processing Time at Houston District

Based on the messages here I have created entries in this excel file.
There was a similar excel file created by a guy from DC local office, so I used similar concept.
Please update the correct dates.
That will help us all to track.

Okay I have corrected ffidx's date & added Hou_inter & HappyHouston.
Quickest to interview is 19 days whereas Longest is ffidx... :(

This kind of gives us all a rough picture.
Please download and correct your the dates or add your entry if your cases is/was Transferred to Houston local office.
Also people who have finished their interview & got approvals, please advice rest of us.
I have a Infopass appt for 11th Morn, Tuesday. We want to make sure if my wife's case has reached Houston DO.

Hello Everyone:

My employment based I-485 case was transferred to Houston office on Oct 20 and now I have received interview notice for myself and spouse 30 minutes apart for mid-March 05. The interview letter says the interview will be video-taped and ask to bring a whole skew of documents.

I am almost certain now that my case was transferred since I marked that I had a prior arrest record (Even though, I was found not guilty and the case was expunged.) One of the documents requested is a certified copy of disposition. Since the case was expunged, I cannot get any form of evidence from the court that my case ever existed; I have even checked the archives department of the court. Has anybody been in situation like this? Any input will be appreciated.

Also, it asks to bring medical exam results which would mean that we need to get the medical exam again.

he recently had his interview & also had a arrest which was dismissed later.
maybe he could help u.

Update

We had a infopass appt this morning at 7.15.
On Dec 30th, I had called the 800 number and the call got transferred to TSC who told me my wife's case papers had reached Houston D.O. and the finger prints were not right.
Today's infopass confirmed that. The guy at the counter arranged for Fp appointment at the location near 290 after 13th Jan.
As per when we would be called for interview, he said nothing much he could do abt that.
 
I asked for interview date last August, and I got a name check request one week later, which delayed my interview for another half a year.

how can one get a name check?

HI,

I got finger print request yesterday. does this mean name check? will it take a year to clear up my finger proints from FBI? Are they the same thing?

and how did you get a name check request 1 week later.
sorry this name check things has me completely baffled.

This morning I went for my wife's FP at the 290 location.
Her earlier 2 fps were done in VA in OCT & Noc 03.
Last week I had sent the mail to FBI and got no reply as yet.
Since she got her FP done today, shd I send a e-mail to FBI again or send the FOIPA fax?

I went in Augsut using infopass to request an interview, the lady did not promise anything, just told me to go home and wait for a letter in a 30 day time frame.

Of course, I did not get anyletter for my interview. Instead, I got a fingerprint letter. But I don't think this is an action out of my info appt because the finger print request letter was dated before my info appt, and my finger print was indeed expiring in Aug.

I went back to Houston INS using an infopass appt late Sept asking for an interview, thinking my fingerprint was now up to date. Unfortunately, I was told by a different lady that even though they got my fingerprint, but my name check was pending.

I went ahead and E-mailed FBI inquring my name check, and was informed by FBI(it took six weeks for FBI to reply) that my name check request by Houston office was initiated one week after my August info appt.

So, to summarize, finger print and name check are separate things. Name check is case dependent, for example: my husband's was cleared in a day, and mine was not cleared upto Nov.. I assumed mine is cleared now since I got my interview notice, but I don't know as a fact.

How many times do they do this name check? My application has been pending since 9/2002 so and I already did the FPs and I assume they already did the name check at least once. so does that mean they will run name check again?

I don't know how many times they do name check.
I do know that I have done three finger prints. I am only able to confirm the name check that was done to me last Aug. because it was holding my interview back.
95% of name check can be cleared in a day and the applicant doesn't have to do anything, therefore people don't even notice. In my case, I noticed because the Houston INS people told me so to explain why it is not their problem that I am not getting an interview soon enough.

To All, Should I send the copy of FP teleprint ( or whatever they call that piece of paper) to the Houston D.O.?
Has anyone dome that ? and if so, what address should it be sent to?

Yes I too wonder the same.
By the way, ffidx, my wife's had her 3rd FP done at the 290 location on 13th Jan. Now she has got another notice for Feb 9th at the gulf freeway location.
This will be her 4th FP.
