I-485 Processing Time at Houston District

3 of us in the same company,
-- the oldest one getting processed for 5-years got transferred in February '04 and hasn't heard anything from Houston,
-- the second oldest getting processed for almost 4-years got transferred to Houston in April '04, still hasn't heard anything from Houston office,
-- the third one, applied in May 2002, didn't get transferred from Dallas TSC and she's gotten approved for Green Card last week, without interview; just go there and get the passport stamped.

I have no idea what the regulation that determines whether the case gets transferred or not. It seems unfair that someone gets a Green Card 2-years before mine.

Second fingerprinting

Hi,

Does anybody have any experience on following up their case in the houston office? Our fingerprints have expired, is their a way we can request for second fingerprinting and how would that help us? Have they ever asked any questions about the tax returns in the interview?

Thanks for any reply.

texan4gc,

Nobody know when we interview for gc as you read above because there is no rule for order as far as we know. Please be patient. We are just waiting !!!

Regarding your FP, please go to the Houston district and ask INQUIRY LETTER at the 1st window and drop it after you request 2nd FP.

Approved -- Local Transfer case

Hi

Finaly, My Green Card has been approved on July 20th. My case was
Transfered from VSC to Houston local office on Oct. 2003.

RD: 01/25/2002
3 EADs

The interview was straight forward. They asked me to produce Federal tax returns for last 3 years, medical and Employment letter. I was little bit late for Interview. My Interviewer was supposed to reschedule my Interview. Unfortuanatly, my wife had interview schedule after me. So, she considered me for Interview later. Be sure , if you get a interview letter , you should be on time. If you are late by 20 minutes, your appointment will be rescheduled.

Wish you all good luck.

mvraman,

Thank you very much for your sharing and congratulation for your green card.

how long before the papers get transferred?

Hi Guys,

I received an email on July 23rd from USCIS (VSC) that my I-485 case was transferred to Houston, TX office for further processing. I haven't received the written notice yet. How long does it usually take to get the written notice and to get the transfer done. Do I get a separate notice from Houston office?

My RD for I-485 is June 2002.

Thanks
Imm2000

EAD renewal experience

I went to the Houston office to get my EAD renewed.
Everything was straightforward. I showed up 50 minutes earlier than the appointment time, no waiting lines for EAD renewal, I dropped my appointment letter at the designated area, several minutes later, got called in for a photo taking, 3 minutes later, the new EAD card was ready. Since I was there, I dropped a inquiry on my I 485 case. I walked out of the office with still 15 mintues ahead of my official appointment time.

Dear ffidx,

It is my 3rd time to renew EAD and your information was useful.
Please advise more details for application process and required documents.
How long does it take from application to new EAD?

EAD application

My lawyer filed my EAd application for me. My EAD will expire in Nov. and I contacted my lawyer in June. She first said Houston office won't accept any EAD appilication until it is within 3 month to expire. I contacted her again in July, and shen went ahead and filed it for me. I think I got the appointment letter within 2 to 4 weeks from the date my application was filed and the appointment date was two weeks later.
The duration on my new EAD is from the date my current EAD expires until a year later.
Hope it helps.
PS: I used my lawyer because my company is picking up the tab, otherwise, I would have done it myself.

2nd fingerprint request

Last friday, I got letter from USCIS
...To continue processing your application. you must go into an INS Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken. You are hereby notified to present yourself at the location, date and time listed below (sep14): (Please disregard this notice if you have been fingerprinted or have been scheduled for fingerprinting within the last 30 days)....

The question; I have done my fingerprints last year 05/03. Do i need to go there again? or this is just a 2nd request?

any idea anyone?

ND/RD 02/02
1FP 05/03

2rd EAD expired on 04/04
3rd EAD not done yet.

Dome9th,

It is 2nd FP request because the validity of FP is 15 months. Did you receive a letter from Houston district? Did USCIS request RFE such as employment letter, W2 etc together with FP request?
