There is no way you can get the 140 receipt notice unless otherwise your employer / attorney gives it to you. A complicated route does exist in which you can file an FOIA application, but your attorney / employer would not entertain that. Because filing FOIA involves submitting a G-28 which would have to mention you as your representative. This has been discusssed in previous threads... search for G-28 and 140 FOIA.

There is another way to know the receipt nos but it is a long shot and a lengthy process. Look out for the checks of the payment made to USCIS. If your company paid it, make a request to your accounting for a copy of the check if possible. Make sure you get the back side of the check. You'll find the magic number there....as i said, it can be complicated and frustrating...but give it a try...

i gave money orders to my employer
so i thin k we cant check
i read there in another thread from texas
if we give some numbers below our i 485 number then we may get some i 140 numbers it seems
for some guys it worked
thanks for ur responses

you can try FOIA without any G28 form and you don't need your employer or lawyer. You can do it yourself . Download the form and ask for underlying labor(forms ETA750A&B) along with the I140 receipt.

I know couple of guys who got their receipts in 7 days(By 1st September) . They applied on 24th august 2004 and they got their EAD cards around 7th September. Hence I am wondering what happened to my application.

My EB3 (Concurrent) case was mailed on 14th September, 2004 and I got the receipt (16th September, 2004). My Notice Date is 20th September, 2004.

Thats good.
I have not received any notice mine was mailed on September 10th as per the Lawyer.
My Lawyer is behaving a bit shady. Dont know if he has even mailed it. It is really sad that such lawyers cannot be taken to task.

EAD Receipt for my wife!!!

My filing dates and receipt dates are given in my signature. I filed along with my wife and received all receipts except EAD receipt for my wife.

But the cheque for EAD was cashed and I believe when I get my cheque copy will know what's happening for my wife's EAD.

Did anybody have similar experience.

Thanks for sharing the information.

When did you get the receipts?

Can you please share the dates. My receipt date is 10 th September, 2004 (as per UPS) nothing officially from USCIS. I have not got anything, also the checks are paid by my employer and they are not ready to share the information. I just dont know whether my case was filed or no. I am very much worried and tired about the attitude of my lawyer and employer.

please let me know when did you get the above receipts.

Thanks,
