My Brother, Who is an USC has filed I-130 for our mother, we were hoping for approval instead got a RFE

What could it be? Any similar experience? How much time they give to respond?

Thanks

why don't you tell us what the RFE is asking for, and then we will be able to help you.

Guessing what it could be is a waste of time.

Pratham,

I am in a similar situation as you (for my mother). I was notified via e-mail that the letter was on the way, the but the e-mail did not say what was requested. Let me know what happen to your case and I will let you know of mine.

Are you under the Jurisdiction of the Vermont Service Center?

Did you guys send the parent's BC or non availability letter with the app ? Maybe that's what the RFE is for.

not me

but that's the most logical requirement for parent's 485, how did you guys miss it ? :). I have read in other people's posts about it...hence threw it on the wall, seems to stick in ur case.

Currently uscis gives 90 days. I just read today that they are going to make the RFE response time variable depending on the type of RFE.
you guys are ok, 90 days is a good enough time to send anything sent back. It's just that u might lose 30+ days for the case processing to resume after ur RFE is recvd by them.

kkboy,

Thanks for the info. I haven't receive anything yet, but I don't remember including the bc with the application.
