Dear All,

I'd appreciate it if you guys help me with this issue.

i am a non-US woman (22 years old, married, have 2 children), hold the Jordanian citizenship, my father has applied for an immigrant US visa before around 10 years, and his case is still being processed until today, he has applied for this visa 'coz he got his sister living there (and holds the US citizenship) so he got a close relative in the US. anyway, if my father got his immigrant visa (green card), let's say issued on 1/1/2008, can you predict if i applied, just after couple months of this date, for an US immigrant visa (giving the fact that i have a close relative living in the US- my father), can you predict how much time (months .. years ..) it takes the US embassy in Jordan to process my case until i get the immigrant visa (i.e. a green card) ?

P.S. I fear it takes 10 years just as my father's !

You cannot apply for an immigrant visa through your father until he becomes a citizen, five years from now. After that, it will take around 8-10 years for FB3 dates to become current for you.

may as well play the DV lottery, if your were born in the eligible country, or your husband was.

Update

Thank you guys for your prompt reply.
I didn't mention in my question above that when my father applied for an immigrant visa before 10 years, he has applied on behalf of the whole family, including me, i was unmarried when he applied for the visa, but we got the OK (that we will get an immigrant visa from the US embassy) just after i got married (approximately after 3 months of my marriage), but the visa has not been issued yet. will this situation change anything in my case ?

P.S. I want to to live in the US with my husband.

I am sorry, but your chances are none.......you did get married, so you are not eligeble to apply on your fathers behalf, plus you are over 21. your father would havew to petition for you when he becomes a citizen, so your waiting time is at leat 15 years from the current bulletin.....try DV.
