How do I fill out this part of N400?

I had to leave the US and would not be able to come back before I submit my N400. How do I describe this trip on my N400 form? I won't have a return date and the total days out of the US. Does any one know how do I deal with this?

It would be better to wait until you return before filing.

If you submit N-400 before you return, you would update the trip at interview. How long are you expected to remain outside the US since it will determine if you will break continuous residence.
 
Thanks. So, I could just skip this unfinished trip on N400, right?

I am planning to stay overseas for 3 to 4 months and come back to catch up with finger printing.

Just be aware that the FP could be quite early... They scheduled me for a FP within a month of submission.

By the time you come back after 3-4 months, your N400 will be dead due to failure to submit Finger prints. Unfortunately, you can't email your JPEG images of your finger prints...:)
