You do need to follow up with and gently remind them of your case. They are not the most diligent people.

What questions did they ask

Hi Gino

We have similar case, I have read your other post regarding RFE U received few months ago.....they have asked me about the same stuff which they requested from you.

Administrator has forwarded my email to you already, would you please answer that email + under-mentioned questions:

1. Your case was transfered to asylum office or some other local office ?
2. What did they ask U in the interview ?
3. How much time U spent in the interview ?

Thanks..... Singh

Singh6, sorry I was away for a few days. I sent the Nebraska office all the documents they requested in RFE. The documents included, evidence of all travels abroad, national passport, expired travel documents, I-94s, and evidence of one year uninterrupted stay in the US. After they received my reply, they forwarded my case to the local office, NOT the asylum office. Then the local office scheduled an interview. During the interview, the officer asked for my letter of employment, tax returns for the last 3 years, and birth certificate. Even though they asked me to re-do my medicals, the officer did not ask for it during the interview. He seemed to be rushing everything, the interview lasted about 15 minutes. Hope this helps. Let me know if you can help futher.

Gino

Gino, Thank you very much for all this valuable information.

And! All the best for your GC, bro.....

Thanks.... Singh

I have a few questions for you, if that's OK. What serves as the evidence of one year uninterrupted stay in the US? Bank statements? Pay stubs? And what if I don't have my birth certificate? Did they ask you about the details of the original application, i.e. why you applied for asylum? Thanks in advance. :)

You may use your apartment lease, mortgage documents, utility bills , pay studs. Try to use evidence which could prove your stay without doubt. Like your paystuff... you are paid only if you work.
IF you don't have birth certificate use an affidivit from two senior citizens in your country who certify that they know your place of birth.

Gino:

My friend's wife did interview on Nov.5, INS promised to give her G/C in 30 days, till now, she got nothing. So, do not worry.
